Yellow | UPS Freight (Do they know something that we don't?)

Just wanted to wish rcwashington a happy bearthday would have wished him a happy birthday but this must be the slang they use in part of the werld.

You guys do realize that historically freight tends to pick up in late Feb early March. My guess is that UPS is taking a proactive approach to things and getting ready for freight to pick up. And it clearly states for future work. All they are doing is taking apps, so when they have jobs available they will already know who they want to bring in for interviews (which won't be former or present teamsters).

But maybe you doom and gloomers are right. Maybe Zollars has told UPS that they will be shutting the doors in 2 months, so they better start hiring. Why do some of you people have to make something out of nothing.

Saturday UPS started Accepting Inquiries For Future Openings (Full-Time Road Drivers) in just about every state...

:birthday: P.S Wish me luck; Today is my bearthday and i am going to buy 1 lottery ticket...
Well Happy Birthday! a couple of days late. I hope you win the lottery, I hear an OD freight mans wife hit it big, with one MIllion dollars. Good to hear a working man or woman can also hit it big.

I applied so that i may have all oppsions avelabile to me.

I'm not sure why this would suprise anyone. UPS is probably 1 of the best run corporations in the history of transportation.
They will continue to kick our a**, it will take a lot more than just getting rid of camera man to compete with them boys.

Happy Birthday RC! You may want to purchase a dictionary instead of the lottery ticket. On the other hand if you hit the big one you can spell birthday anyway you want. 365 Bearthdays a year, and you won't have to drive no truck or forklift!

Now you went and done it, you ruined his birthday, if he did not hit the lottery. :biglaugh:

Proactive vs Reactive

My sister works in human resources in Atlanta, she said that they were being very PROACTIVE to the current and possibly worsening future climate. That is the one thing that UNFORTUNATELY YRC cannot do at this time, be PROACTIVE. We can ONLY BE REACTIVE and keep our fingers crossed that the economy turns around in the near future...

I know im in the wrong forum but I like to search and see what else is goin on, but im a ups freight city driver. Spoke with my terminal manager as recently as 2 weeks ago about any future hirings, just out of curiousity. He said generally ups is accepting the applications but many locations won't actually be hiring. My terminal has about 60 ft city drivers and about 8 or 10 linehaul guys and he expected to hire 1 or 2 guys total before the end of the year. So I personally think they are just seeing their options as well. But from talkin to other ups drivers, we wish u guys the best of luck and most of us hope the company makes it through. Later guys
