They say that around 120 or so road drivers were layed off Friday night in the system. The only place that I have heard was that Evansville had 2 layed off, where are the other 118? Anybody know?
Shh! nobody told them yet:)
Not trying to start anything, but, we are getting into normal layoff season. I agree 120 seems high though.
You are supposedly a retired YRC driver. You don't know how Holland lays off anyone. Holland screws the men on Friday. Few and far between when they send out a letter mid-week. Go back to bed old man!they always laid off Tuesday thru Friday and they always will
sometimes more, sometimes less
but do keep us updated if new rules have any effect

Yeah i like that one. You got your home load mini on Friday night. By the way you're laid off when you get home.I always liked the way that Holland laid off road drivers, called you at the hotel and told you to call linehaul dispatch. Your own terminal wouldn't tell you a sleep terminal would.
RECALL !!! Actually 3 of the 5 laid off at Joplin were called in Thurs morn, 11-11-10 to run out that day !! No idea how long their call back will last but welcome back :-)
Happy for those guys but don't you see this is the way of the future. Lay you off. Give you enough work on whatever shift/callin they want, just to keep you hangingon. Seen it for almost 2 years. When I told them I was no longer available for their select call in schedule they asked me if I would like to resign. I reminded them that I have a recall available. So if they are ready to recall with a letter then they can talk to me again.
