went - is going pretty smooth. this is yellow moving into a RDWY barn. dude's (sorry) brother's helping brother's - people
just happy to work in this recession.

At 455 all of the drivers seem to be working togather and helping each other. It's the computer system and freight that is messed up. Management says the freight is there but they were told to sit on it. By whom I do not know. Management seems to be as confused as the rest of us.
 
First day at AQE now 859 was interesting. Second day was better. Lots of people introducing themselves and going out of their way to be friendly and helpful. All seem to want to make it work.
 
wow that sums it up.cve is a total mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!waited 6 hours to get bills for my trailer last night.foremen just look at you when asked questions,no training what so ever felt like a casual,deen there for 11 years,they are setting us up to fail well atleast the ylw employees.all ylw workers get you resume freshened up!!!
 
X120 driver now at 123/mbk

I worked Sunday. It was my first and only day I worked so far. The computers keep going down. Now I hear that A layed off teamster with " ONE YEAR " is being called to run trips at 120. The first call he got, he refused because he was busy. The next day they called him and he ran 2 trips to 135 from 120 and the third day he did the same thing. What the hell is this all about. Today is Wednesday, 9:00 AM and i'm still waiting for a call. I guess i will have to sign up for Unemployment and I have 20 years with the teamsters while someone with 1 year is working.

come to cve we are 2 days or more behind you could walk in punch in and work and they wouldnt have a clue!!one guy never got assigned work until 830 last night and he came in at 330!!!they dont know who is there or not whats that i hear??footsteps of our customers running away
 
Looks like YRC is set up to fail most of the people from management who knew what was going on are gone. My shift with 15 guys goes in at 1700 we are waiting around for an hour on bills and drivers to come back in. We are sending everything to Dallas from Houston like Beaumont which is only 94 miles away, Victoria 140, San Antonio 196 miles. How can we save money by running it up to Dallas then bring it back down 1-10 or 59 through Houston ? They are leaving a paper trail of bad management for when they file for bankruptsy. There is no way they can pay off that 2.9 Billion to the banks & the 4 billion owed to the pension fund down here in the south. This PIG is done put a fork in it. I'll continue to go to work & do my part till they lock the gates. Then I'll go apply at YRC Logistics for less pay. The Gov will take over our pension fund at least get something $1400 is the max they pay out. Hope I'm wrong because I have 20 yrs. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel but it belongs to the train that is comming straight for us. I wish all who are on the board directors from YRC the same fate financialy that you have given us.
 
right on brothers. in sea have 2 rdwy sups @sea 642 from rdwy 870 in sea . also sent some office help over . no one knows how to do anything on this rdwy computer system but rdwy people. they say o thats easy. bull. this computer yrc gave us is so antiquated but it saved them money. rdwy sup says all will be better when all yellos pro #'s out of system. huh"???? thats cause then supervisors do all the work
 
I am sure all of this crap will be worked out in short order.....met few Roadways guys from Allentown and Trenton seems like great guys to me.....it does seem like the only hate and discontent is a select few.....

I'm on a 5 day bid. Turn or bed.Did 3 turns so far this week and maxed out each trip do to bench time at 135 and 123.One more and i'm done for the week!

The mainline is a Unix based operating system. More dependable than any Windows product and it may not seem like it but faster. You have to know the commands though and this is why every one thinks its antiquated it does not look or act like windows. Every supervisor should have a list of the commands and what they do, but I have not seen one laying around.
What scares me more than anything is the lack of tow motors and computers at Indy 324. People unable to do job because there are not enough tow motors. No computers on the tow motors and there and not enough hand held computers. Supervisors routing bills for people without computers with out checking where freight goes and sending it to wrong doors.
Freight for EOL terminals not being run because line haul is to busy trying to run main line. Utility can only pull so much freight back and if they where pulling full loads back before merge. It does not take a rocket scientist to know that line haul will have to run overflow.
Workers seem to be getting along just overwhelmed with amount of freight dumped on them. The yellow dock workers don't seem to be having to many problems with computers if they can get one.Yellow pro numbers are causing a lot of problems and the Yellow movement bills are small and hard to read. Once these are out of system it should get better.

The operating system (Windows or Unix or even DOS) isn't the problem since no one is directly interfacing with the OS. It's the specialized/customized program running on top of the operating system that was developed for Yellow and/or Roadway that anyone deals with in the course of the day.
