This Roadway driver will respect my new Yellow home.NO you are Wrong it is not there HOUSE it belongs to YRC every one need to get it through their heads there is no Roadway or Yellow we all have the same investment here we all work for the same new company so everbody needs to get over it and move on
Quit b*tching about the damn computers on the hilos. Your vastly superior super freight system software IS GONE. And it's not coming back. So get over it. Roadway's is just fine. It's simple and to the point. As a casual I learned how to use the it over one weekend. It's so darn easy even a Yellow teamster can use it....or so I thought. Anyway, it's getting old listening to these guys cry about it everyday.
guess it s been along time since i been a dock ape just bills sign em on a manafest and put the bill in the box tecnology.you kids got it easy:Poke:
The easiest way to equate it is going from Windows 95 to Mac OS-11. Different systems with different parameters. One thing I have noticed is that in the RDWY heritage system, they work it just fine. On the Yellow side, the "Deer in the headlights" look is overwhelming! We both have to learn and grow. Get over the RDWY/YFSY mentality, we are YRC today. Get to work and make it work. The old way of doing business is gone, time to speed up and get with the program! Teamwork is the key. If they don't know it, teach them! We won't survive if you don't.Very interesting... Yellow's Linehaul system was easier to use than Roadway's, but the truth is much of the Roadway system is from the mid 90's. Conversely, most of the Yellow system is from the early to mid 80's. It's completely unmaintainable, and outside of field systems, has vastly inferior (due to age and technology) software for the corporate business users. Reality is both need updated, but are unlikely to be changed much anytime soon. (at least from a field systems perspective)
Now that's funny I don't care who you are.The computers are so easy a cave man can do it!!!!

Most of us have figured out what we need to know, no thanks to our 5 minute orientation. We have evidently had it to good for these past 5-6 years and now must pay retribution to the BIG R gods of yRc. Sorry almighty ROADWAY god we won't complain about your pos computer anymore.:smilie_132:
I saw one of the clerks using the "green screen" and it looked right out of around 1995!:Flame-On:... maybe easy, but slowwww... it takes three minutes to print a waybill from the mainframe screen, and that's how we print 'em because the "frt" and "rapid" screens are only 10%-20% functional at CVE/RFO. (oops.. 218/257)
All the wild frt & horrible bill control is equaling a lot of down time for dock workers who come up for bills.
Especially, it seems, at the breakbulks, there are too many inefficiencies to count right now. Let's hope the problems are ironed out soon.

Pushing 22 years in this business, it used to be much easier.
Put the bill in the box. When trailer was full the clerk put the pro numbers in the computer, and it was done.
