Yellow | YRC Worldwide will close 40 terminals because of low freight volume

"You voted yes!" "You voted no!" "But you voted yes!" "But then you voted no!" "But you voted yes before I voted no!" "But you voted no before I voted yes before you voted no!"

Is this what we're going to hear the next several years? (apparently).....

The way the Gov's spending/ siezing power thru the Regulations; and the way the Fed and China are buying our Debt-- a paycheck is ALMOST all one CAN worry about. Even that won't be enough if they keep Devaluing our Dollar...... Try to organize a plan to pay off your individual debt; set aside what you can. Make a Disaster Plan (just in case-- be it flood, blizzard, economic disaster, job closing, etc....); and pray-- a lot!!!!!!

I have 400 cases of pop-cycles in my freezer...."bring it on"

pretty damn sad its come to this . caving in just to look for a better job.some say its easier to find a job if you have 1 .i dont get that.
If you are still working at a yrc job, dont bs us that you are really looking hard for that other job. i dont believe it at all.
why would you ?
if a no would of closed us we will never know , but if it did then you would be really looking.
but if freight is your life ,i guess a yes makes it easier to go do your dream job every day .
i think riffraff got it right . i see most people just hanging out doing nothing .... and not just the union side ... not just the dock.yard guys wandering around..... and watching the road guys trying to houst themselfs up into their rigs is nearly painful to watch. takes them half hour 45 minutes to get comfy b4 they can even start it up.
just a job yes . a good job .... not hardly.
most of us hate to leave the house to go to work but its what we have been forced into. and yrc seems happy with that so i guess they get what they pay for.

I can tell you go work everyday at the same company I go to because you see what I see. and the crazy thing is your 3000 miles away from me...thats not a coincidence ...people could careless about the success of this company...like i said it shows in there work and attitude..this company has stage 4 cancer and is spreading daily...we all know what the end result of that is!!

I respect your right to disagree, but I don't work 24 hours a day and therefore have time to pursue other things. Trust me, first decent job come my way, I'm out of here. If you think sitting at the union hall going rah rah and being a know it all in an online forum makes you a "man with balls" floats your boat, go for it. You don't believe some look for other jobs cause you're unable or unwilling to.

As far as caving in, damn right I did. If you think things will ever be good at this company than, well, you will be on this forum for quite some time complaining. And if your financial situation lets you be able to sit home with no check or benefits in 6 months to be able to afford this company going belly up, than I respectfully withdraw my critique. I for one can't so I do what I gotta do.

Question: IF you hate to leave the house to go to work...why are you not looking for another job? How is it that you have been "forced" to work here?
The fact that we have people just standing around and not doing what they should be is just another reason that YRC has problems.....Don't you think that everyone should be doing their part to make sure things get better, or at least have a chance at improving?

Road Drivers taking 1/2 hour or 45 min to start their trips???? Don't you think that's just a wee bit of an over statement? Most Road drivers I know are in rush to get out on the road and get the trip done and start the next one so as to get more miles! City driver and Shuttle drivers...now that's a different story....that's painful to watch....

Just a thought: If your not looking for a better job and your planing to stay here for as long as YRC remains open, Don't you think it should behoove you to stop whining about everything and do something to improve the moral...?? try to make the best of it???? Negativity begets negativity....Right now your part of the problem.....If you hate YRC as much as you say...Go get one of those "better" jobs out there!

Currently there is LESS government regulation on businesses than at any other time. If you care to see what a climate of no regulation on business would look like...Look at China.....
The Fed does not buy our debt....they help create our debt. We are defiantly in hocks to the Chinese. The more money that gets printed (as a response to deficit spending) the greater chance of hyperinflation...I.E. the Weimar Republic or more recently, Brazil.....I think we agree on these things.....Good advice also regarding paying off personal debt and putting aside what you can.....and ohhh yes......Do pray......
Our government IS the corporations!! We are a fake democracy actually should be called corpocracy ...lobbyist are our congressmen and CEOs are our majority and minority leaders. Wall street got caught with there pants down and had to answer to other corporations who lost there shorts, which is why there is more regulations in wall street, (again lobbyist) there wasnt hardly any before the mortgage meltdown. So weather your a Democrat or Republican, just know that they have most fooled... they eat out of the same bowl!!

Our Government is not the Corporations...just controlled by the Corporations....and that is what is called a Plutocracy.
You make my point regarding regulation...Yes BEFORE the meltdown there were hardly any regulations on Wall street...(lobbyists) Now there are at least some regulation. (Government) And your point about Democrats and Republicans feeding out of the same bowl.......We agree on that point to be sure......And I don't see that changing for the better anytime soon...

Thanks for your insight!

Cain & Bultman Distributors, Hialeah, Florida

YRC Worldwide Inc. plans to close about 40 terminals across the country as it continues shrinking its operations to handle a smaller amount of customer freight.

Sheila Taylor, CFO of the Overland Park-based company (Nasdaq: YRCW), told analysts during an analyst conference on Wednesday that the company has submitted a “change of operations” with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union about the closures.

“We’re taking steps to ‘right size’ the business,” Taylor said, adding that the closures affect about 12 percent of the company’s 334 facilities..........................

This is going to be way before many (but not all) current Drivers on Truckingboards can Remember, but Cain & Bultman Distributors used to be the Parent Corporation of Yellow Trucking, YRC. I went through a 'skinning' as we called it back in those days when you took a Polygraph and sat down with a Lawyer, to work for them, but the pay was really, really good. At that time, my Ryder Driver Certification card was over 10 years old. The Trucking Implosion continues, and I am saddened to read this Bossman, but I do Appreciate the Compiled email you've started sending us, "MHS", or 'Motor Home Specialists'. For those wanting to know, I have been on the RyderTruck Rental computers for nearly 50 years, now. My Ryder Record may be checked with any having my IDs.

You posted just a few before there is LESS regulation now than before (I disagree); now in this post you say before there was none, now there is some. Which is it?????

PS: I placed the Newspaper Link on my Wall on Facebook for the others I communicate to, as they wouldn't be shocked, either.

I voted no, twice! This time they got my yes vote. Having balls does not put food on my table, pay my mortgage, keep clothes on my kids back. It buys me time to get another job. Does all this make me mad?? Are you kidding? I'm pissed like you don't know. I don't care about anything but myself and my family. Does that make people mad? Will they call me all kinds of names? Yes! But I don't care what anyone thinks. I don't love you, I love my family, and their well being is my responsiblity. This company will continue to do whatever they want for their own good. Always have, always will. Anybody around long enough will agree. The union has lost it's teeth. You either voted YES for your own reasons, or you voted NO for the same. Both sides are right. But there is no third choice. NO ONE has my best interest in mind but ME. That's where we are in the world right now. The only way to succeed or better your life is for YOU to do something about it. Not the Union or the Company. I have lost jobs, been fired, promoted, seen my company go out of bussiness, got tons of OT, and worked partial weeks. Been there done this!!!
Will you remember this post if you ever really need help? Can only say I'm extreamly glad not to be in your frame of mind.........pray I never get there.
