ADuiePyle | The End Is near

The end is not near. The company is saved. ADP going back to Pre April 6th, 2009. The president in a local newspaper (4/7/2009) in SE Pa said that the terminations of the part time dock and part time office was permanent. When they did this they expected YRC to bit the bullet and they have not. They expected an increase in freight rates and that has not happened. They expected an increase in freight volume and that has happened.

ADP is paying paying the avg p&D driver 45 hours straight time and 15 hours overtime. With an avg of $ 22.00 per hour that is $ 1485 gross and add on 22% for taxes and benefits. They can not afford this with low freight rates. Impossible situation.

Solution go back to pre April 6th 2009. Let the president of company change his mind. After destoying all the part timers lifes, let's reverse course and be flexible. That is what happening. Part time dock help is coming back to ADP. The overtime for p&d drivers of 15 hours per week will be gone by Oct 31. (15 hours X $ 33.00 X 800 drivers x 52 weeks =
$ 20,592,000). You can get a lot of part times for $ 20 million.

Who suffers now? The p&d driver who lives paycheck to paycheck. Who benefits everyone because the brothers have change course and the company will NOW survive for a better day. Good going ADP.

Corrections:

When the difficult decision was made in the Spring to "rightsize" the company, expecting YRC to fold was only a hope at that point, it was not expected.

We are thankful to have the challenge of trying to reduce overtime. That means we continue to keep the business going and are getting busier.

I am not even going to address your mathematical calculation with regards to hiring PT to avoid driver OT.

From my standpoint, people at ADP continue to be pretty happy. We are thankful to have not been in the headlines like many other trucking companies who are close to bankruptcy. We have not had benefit or pay reductions, and we continue to have faith in our leadership to make the best decisions for the long term.

As always Darla, when you look at the bigger picture, life ain't all that bad. I'm sorry you feel otherwise.

Will you just be quiet already. I have never seen someone with such a vendetta against a single company in my life. I do not work there any longer and your BS even bothers me.

Pyle is surviving just fine. They make adjustments just like every other carrier. Still they are one of the better places to work and one of the few companies that actually TRY to provide their employees with a pleasant work environment. Drivers still get nice equipment, they get 401k and pension, they get excellent health benefits with minimal contributions.

Ownership and upper management has an open door policy from the top of the company to the bottom.

There are worse places to work out there. Trust me there are much worse.

Cant get enouph !!

You have to much time on your hands, if you were layed off you should use the time wisely and apply for work else where. As for the numbers, wont even try and do the math either. Trucking is evolving at rate never seen b/4, what worked 6 months is gone, what worked 5 years ago is unheard of. The basic principal of LTL will always be the same, but it must all ways change with change in the times. As long as we change and try to improve we will be around for a long time, the companies that change when the are ready for bankruptcy will surely go because they do not see ahead only what is now. So go on with your negative view here and on other boards , maybe it helps you pass time.:TR10driving03::nutkick:

He has 14 years and works in EB? Where did he transfer from? And also he's a liar. Carteret and WC are slammed and they would have sent him to either first. There's no one day off every two week thing either. Ridiculous.

Wrong !!!!

:TR10driving03:Impossible, if you say you saw him in W. Nyack he can't possible work in E. Bruns, they do not run over there, neither does the Carteret terminal.:woot::bicycle:
