The end is not near. The company is saved. ADP going back to Pre April 6th, 2009. The president in a local newspaper (4/7/2009) in SE Pa said that the terminations of the part time dock and part time office was permanent. When they did this they expected YRC to bit the bullet and they have not. They expected an increase in freight rates and that has not happened. They expected an increase in freight volume and that has happened.
ADP is paying paying the avg p&D driver 45 hours straight time and 15 hours overtime. With an avg of $ 22.00 per hour that is $ 1485 gross and add on 22% for taxes and benefits. They can not afford this with low freight rates. Impossible situation.
Solution go back to pre April 6th 2009. Let the president of company change his mind. After destoying all the part timers lifes, let's reverse course and be flexible. That is what happening. Part time dock help is coming back to ADP. The overtime for p&d drivers of 15 hours per week will be gone by Oct 31. (15 hours X $ 33.00 X 800 drivers x 52 weeks =
$ 20,592,000). You can get a lot of part times for $ 20 million.
Who suffers now? The p&d driver who lives paycheck to paycheck. Who benefits everyone because the brothers have change course and the company will NOW survive for a better day. Good going ADP.
