was told today (fact or rumor i don 't now) that bloomington IN.and effingham ILL. terminals were being closed down by end of may,has any one else heard this.

Those are the rumors, nothing has been given to the union as of 8am this morning. Both terminals areas have been cut down to what Yellow ran from other terminals. It looks like if Yellow had a EOL terminal it was fine if it was a Roadway close it. They took some towns away from Bloomington gave them to Evansville and the Evansville driver drives twice as far as the Bloomington guy to get there 40 vs 80 miles. They drive right by the each other every day. District manger said yellow ran that area from Evansville and they are keeping it. He came from Evansville though. Bloomington never got Columbus during the change, Indianapolis kept running it (grievance filed). Louisville got the farthest south area from Bloomington even though it is the same mileage to the farthest town. The other towns are closer to Bloomigton with better roads. Yellow used to interline some of those towns to Roadway. There is no good road from Louisville to those towns. It looks really bad for Bloomington. it will be like all other EOL closings within a month they will lose 75% of the business the terminal had in the town.
Find out more tonight. Company will have to present change pretty soon if they are closing end of May.

I will repeat as of 8am again this morning nothing official from union. Until company presents a change to the union it is rumor.Nothing official will be sent by fax. Maybe he saw a company fax with some names on it. The Effingham Utility driver said the TM said nothing is official yet but company is looking into closing some EOL terminals nothing set in stone yet. It does look bad for both Bloomington and Effingham due to the areas taken away from them. Bloomington cannot be handled out of INDY, Yellow tried and failed. Roadway blew them away in amount of freight handled.
Bloomington seniority 6 people all above 19 years. 30,25,24,23,20,19

Yes, he is :) Any idea of the seniority dates of those guys,, & how many are there? Here we go again...getting bumped down even further.:duh:

So instead of being 100 from a call-back, you're going to be 106????????:Flame-On: Sorry, had to say it......:nutkick:
That means I would have been 105.....:biglaugh:

What else is puzzling is that Roadway closed Terre Haute, and moved 1 (IIRC) to Effingham. Others went to Danville and Indy. Big R pulled alot of freight out of Effingham. This is strange..indeed

6 of one, half dozen of the other.....how's the body business? Heard they had a slow flu season....:biglaugh:

People are absolutely DYING to get into what I haul!

How do you know the freight will be handled by Indy; why not Evansville or Louisville?

They already got their areas from Bloomington during the change. I figure maybe 1 or 2 to Terra Haute for crane and bloomfield all the rest to Indy. Maybe 1 to Evansville if Evansville gets crane. They have cut Bloomington down to almost what was run out of Indy by yellow. Still enough work in this bad economy for the 4 regular ,1 laid off guy as extra from 324 and 2 utility even with area cut down. What happens when freight picks up?

Are you working LO road drivers got in 3 days this week at 324?
