Holland | Holland Employees Entice ABF

Don't worry about me bro, I'm fine. But, I am getting more frustrated because I'm not seeing the positive changes in management that I expected. I also expected to see some heads roll after the givebacks. But, the only management people that have left the company, left on their own. (with only a few exceptions) These operations need a total make over, in my opinion. I try to stay positive, but when I see failure, I expect change. And I'm not seeing it. I will double up on my happy pills for a few days. Things are looking up. I finally lost the last snowbank in my yard this week. Thanks, we all need to keep our head up. We still work for a great company. But, most of us understand that we could be, and should be, doing much better than we are.

The only heads that are rolling are the employees heads, I can't believe that you thought top management would be chopping off their own heads. It sounds a bit naive to me.:duh:

The give backs are going to be used for their pensions and their big time bonuses. :nutkick:
How can anyone stay positive when you are witnesing failure? you must live in fantasy land, you sure you don't know Michael Jackson??:biglaugh: I think that there are some people confusing positvness with denial, and I don't mean the river in Egypt.

You could be right. I may be a bit naive. I've just always believed that failure is unacceptable. But, with the corporate greed and ignorance that we see nowadays, I should probable quit thinking that corporations will ever do the right thing. Failure does seem to be acceptable at all levels nowadays.

Nope. Remember, since the give backs, the Union will be keeping oversight of the bonus that the big shots get.:biglaugh: The only thing that the Union will be concerned with is that their bonus' match Billy and the gangs.:nutkick:
How can anyone stay positive when you are witnessing failure?
It is getting much harder, since we are not seeing any changes in the leadership. They are letting Billy complete his "long term plan". :TR10driving03:

Why people are so willing to keep giving concessions is beyond me, it hasn't done any good so far.

If we could get away from YRC I would be willing to do so but I ain't giving YRC nothing else. Yes... I would help pay to get away from these loosers.

i will quit and go elsewhere before i give them idiots anymore of my pay!!!! i will flip hamburgers if need be.

And the other half is on layoff or lost their job completely. Looks like the concessions are doing real good.
Sorry your out of work Wireman! Some of us are still HOLLAND PROUD, and that's hard to beat out of us. I happen to be one of those!

ABF Freight System's Latest Change of Operations: Harbinger of YRC Unit Acquisition?
April 29, 2009

ABF Freight System is planning to close Teamsters' road board operations in six locales. It says it is doing this because of declining freight volumes and to consolidate operations. The proposal means a loss of 127 Teamsters jobs.

There are rampant rumors within the trucking industry that ABF may be preparing a bid for YRC's troubled regional freight unit, the former USF Corp. companies. This would includes former top-flight regional companies Holland and New Penn, both Teamster-covered carriers which once were highly profitable enterprises under USF that have fallen into money-losing units under the YRC aegis.
Why? Holland and New Penn once were solidly...

The topic for this post should have been "USF Holland Employee's Dream About ABF Buying Their Livelyhood".............so they don't have to wonder of their doom on a daily basis.......LOL.....

i hope abf does buy you all so you can get in the black instead of being in the red. im just a laid off bother hoping for the best for all us.

I hope ABF doesn't listen to Waggs reasoning for not selling us. Check it out on YRC forum. In his words, shut us down, sell the assets and try to retain the business. Nice plan Waggs, right out of the BZ play book.
