Does anybody else ever notice that we read about Yellow and Roadway but there's hardly ever a mention about USF? We are just like the ugly step child that nobody wants to claim or talk about. What do you think that means? :hide:

i think it means YOU have way to much free time!!!!!!!!

when are you guys and gals going to get it in your head there is no more USF, there' s only holland, reddaway, and npme, a yrcw company.or the regionals!! if we don't start makeing money and keep makeing money or profit, even if just to save yrc,we will be the first thing to go or shut down or just plain liquidated for more cash to save yrc.we won't be sold to anybody, any of us. there is really nothing to sell.terminals sold so we can lease back, equipment is getting older by the day, except for ::shit:: yrcw has made us lease, and yrcw isn't going to sell any of us with out takeing as many customers as they can to generate revenue to save yrc. which brings us back to there ain't nothing to sell!!we are not in our own little regional worlds any more, like it or not, if the mother ship crashes, yrcw, we will be the ones that crash and burn first. if we don't do our over night thing and 2nd day deal and generate as much revune as possable, for yrcw to take from us and save yrc with ,we are all doomed. cause yrc can't save itself.they are to big and antiquated, and are to set in the old ways of doing freight to save themselfs. like it or not i really beleive thats the reality of whats happening now at each of our beloved regional companys, which ever one you work for.

since npme, hollland and reddaway seem to be working well together why dont they close yrc and let us stay in business. we probably provide a better service.

too much time

DGFBY first of all I'm glad there is a first amendment! :USA: Second of all let's see what you do when you are UNEMPLOYED!!

you have no idea how much i've been unemployed since 2004, however i don't sit on here and complain about the company or the ibt i go find work(8 w2 last year, that's right 8) get out there and find something. There is life after holland or yellow or roadway or abf or active usa. belive me i know first hand

that would be the ideal thing but the bean counters would rather blame us instead of looking at all the freight being held hostage at the yrc terms

It still amazes me that the company with the worst OR's and finances was able to buy all the companies who were run better than them and had better financials!!!!
As soon as Yellow bought roadway and newpenn I said ::shit:: was going to go down hill!!!

We said the same thing over at Holland and I bet they did the same over at Roadway. It has always been a mystery as to how YRC or better yet Yellow at the time was able to get the financing from the banks to purchase these companies, but you have to look at some things that many people over look like the fact that these CEO's sit on multiple boards and haggle behind the scenes and plot these sort of things.

Now the biggest mystery that has been bothering me as of late is the fact that with all of the selling of the terms it is awfully strange that they are for the most part going to one carrier (estes), with the lease back the moneys are going into there coffers and they have been hiring in this area stating to their drivers that they expect a up tick in frieght soon all the while we have not been hearing the same from our TM's.

The second biggest question thats been bothering me is where is all the equipment going, I know its going to auction in Ohio but who is buying it? that would be something to find out.

i dont know who would buy the junk we have. its probably going to mexico because it isnt worth a dime or a penny. this is the worst equiptment holland has ever had on the roads.:TR10driving03:

Your not kidding they are retiring equipment that Is servicble and leaving us with junk.

well the dumb sh^%s at yrcw sold 3 of our terminals to our biggest competitor in the NE.in fact, the now president of this competitor, was a long time president at npme, till he had enough of yrcw bulls%^,and left. so now we pay rent on mostly modern terminals that we fully owned before and now adds more expense to our system in the worst economic times most of us will ever see. and of course they were bought at fire sale prices. we have trailers that have been out of service for months just sitting around at alot of our terminals takeing up space, the npme logo has been painted over, and have been told can't sell cause no titles to release them or being used as colateral for yrcw debt. at camp hill,we even have had to rent space from local in industral park to park this junk in , cause we need the space at terminal. we can't spend money for scales on fork-lifts yet they pay for themselfs in 60 days or less. our W&I guy finds $100,000 a month at one terminal alone, in miss weights and wrong classes, but we can't spend money to gaurentee the correct weights in this day of big time discounts when every $ in profit is so important. he even found several hundred thousand $'s in W&I corrections for reddaway and holland, did the paper work and faxed to both companys , and they blow him off like the possable saveing is nothing but chump change. yet both companys cry about high management cost yrcw charges them. the least bit of effort from both of the companys to get the correct rates for hauling freight up and down the highways could save them millions yearly and offset high management cost , yet the ego's in these companys are incrediable, they would rather be losers, than take advice from a constant profit maker, npme.i just heard this other day,and can't validate it yet, but was told now we are not suposeed to spend money to have any of our hand held city opts cumputers fixed, while they give customers the ability to see when there freight is to deliverd, they also play a big part in determineing line haul needs at night as early as possable to get freight moveing early, duhhhh, thats what next day is all about. nobody does it better than npme. and to go with this, some genious was pushing for us to change systems, after we have developed this system and tweeked this deal for well over 10 yrs now. i truely would like to here who is actually telling npme, his name, how to operate and do next day better. as hard as yrcw has tried to interfere with ever part of our operation, this company has still ecked out a profit at the end of every quarter. these jerk-offs might kill this company in the end, but they will never kill the pride and determination that most of us have here at npme to keep this operation alive and continue to be the best of the best.

WoW, I thought I was on the Holland thread not the New Penn thread.

Nothing wrong with him having pride in New Penn they were a great company before YRC just as we at Holland were and we all have had pride in these companys and the majority of our fellow coworkers but YRC has strained that some I have noticed.....

BTW Holland was the same way and could be that way again just as New Penn could if we were cut free and I still believe in these hard times we could all return to what we were if we had a chance.

hey wireman, you still collecting your unemployment checks? you working at camphill at all? i see you said in a differant post you were avaiable to work but jr.guy got called in. just curious if you got that straightened out and are working there or not.

Nope, I am collecting and getting my house all nice and finished that way I don't have anything to do when I go back to work. Union didn't want to do anything about that BS with the jr man so that is fine. Wasn't Camp Hill, it's Reading. And I will be working next week for a place that took a majority of the Holland freight from the WB terminal. I don't want anything to do with YRC or any affiliates.

After reading alot it comes down to one thing, everybody and there Brother is wanting to be a Truck Driver. I heard a Driver over the radio last night talking about he was makin .39 cents a mile but not getting enough miles so thinking about going with another company that would pay him .35 but promised more miles.

You have alot of people out there just like that, give them somewhere to live a nice fancy truck, and gee we be a truck driver.
It is not hard to figure out why the Trucking Industry has gone down the drain.

Well the problem is most of these guys don't know any better. They will work for nothing as long as there is a little pay check at the end of the week. If everybody stuck together and wouldn't take a low paying job they would have to up the pay to get people. But if you don't take the job at .30cpm somebody else will. In this economy you can't be as picky as you use to be able to. I have been out of a job since the beginning of April and only had one job offer and then they turned around and said they were not gonna hire anybody. Come to find out they hired somebody else. It didn't bother me one bit...lol. Now here we are with only one company calling me all this time and now I got 3 that want me to start next week with 2 of them paying real good money.
