A lot of tragic loss here.

The family, the drivers, and the emergency responders are all in my thoughts and prayers.

:hide: The photos and video are extremely sobering. My heart goes out to the loved ones of the crash victims, and both drivers who survived. :hide:

I was saddened when I first heard of this from another driver. He said he heard a car crossed the median into Con-way's path.
Now that I read the article and find what really happened I am heartbroken for the innocent family whose lives are over as well as their relatives who must live with this devastation.

Tough day for all...

Yeah, this is hard for everybody. Very somber at terminal today. Just wanted to get out fast. Reading the posts from people that knew them were very heartbreaking. I know there are people on the other side of trucking that might not understand, even we don't have all the details. i know this guy,and he is a very good driver. Been here a long time. the people that knew the victims in the threads I read were very fair. We all don't know what happend. I think we all can't believe what happened. God Bless them all.

I also offered up a prayer for your co-worker who was doing his job.
Then in an instant he has taken 5 lives.
He and his family must be devastated, the memory of this may be with him till his dying day.

Being a retired UPS Freight safety trainer, and (TB) Accident Forum moderator I can not stress this enough to every commercial driver.
It is so important to get your proper rest so you will be alert,as well as always focus on what you are doing at all times.

May God have mercy on everyone involved in this tragic crash,Amen.

Horrible indeed! i think this one in particular will leave an impression on all that visit this site. School's out, vacation time, more folks on the Hi-ways, unfortunately probably not the last one we see.

I hope I read the news right:

The truck crashed into the back of the flatbed and then the Conway driver hit it?

Still doesn't take away from the horrible fact tho that an entire family has died.

I believe it said that traffic was stopped in front of the Conway truck and as he crested the hill wasn't able to stop in time.

Flatbed in the lead, He felt something from the rear hit him.It was the pick-up being pushed by the CCX truck.
Very sad for all.

R.I.P Workman Family.

This just shows how much impact and devastation took place.
Makes you really think and reflect how you drive both your work vehicle and personal car.

My heart, my thoughts and my prayers go out to all involved in such a horrific/tragic accident. My mind tends to wonder after seeing and hearing such dreadful news. I think to myself... "This could have been me...This could have been my family...and in a way/sense...:17: it was.". Life is too short, and you never know when it's your turn to go. Please say a prayer or two for all those involved, family members, driver, drivers family and all police, medic and fire responders. Its truely a sad day. Be safe while out on the road, there are those that are depending upon you to make it home. God bless.
