OK.County Prosecutor & District Attorneys statements regarding charges for 10 deaths.

Negligent Homicide seems a bit "weak", that charge is a misdemeanor and to be honest i'm not sure it's enough. I feel for the guy and i know he has a heavy burden to carry for the rest of his life, but that doesn't excuse the facts. It appears that he was in fine health and appears to be no mechanical issues with the truck/trailer for whatever reason he just "never" attempted to stop. Sorry but i'm not buying the negligent homicide, Weak Weak Weak.

I don't buy the comment about "text messaging" from a 76 year old man. Hell, I rarely text message and never while driving. If they don't want to talk to me, the hell with them.

This does need to be moved up to a felony strike for the sake of all the families' losses.

I think one day soon there will be an age limit on CMV drivers, just like with pilots.

If everything checks out with his health, logs, blood test and Mech. condition of his rig, Neg. Homicide will be the strongest case against him. In amillion years a prosecutor could never prove Intent to cause this disaster.

Sounds like this old gent was just doing his job like any other day.
Then in an instant he has taken the lives of 10 people he did not know.
What ever the authorities charge him with, when he realized what he had done.
I'm sure the life he knew before he got in behind the steering wheel to take this load has been changed for the negative forever.

I don't know the exact law but i was thinking more along the lines of "vehicular manslaughter" or something to the effect. I know they'll never be able to prove intent, nor do i believe there was any. Just for whatever reason he didn't stop.

All I know is that after ten deaths and more maimed this man can no longer be allowed to drive a car, much less a rig. At his age I have to wonder if he has one of "those" doctors that sign off on the medical card for old times sake. Just glad I am not in his shoes. I am sure it was not intentional on his part but we all have more limitations, with age.

76 years old he should of had a better retirement fund. At 76 I don't want to anywhere near a truck. The age issue is just gonna another new thing they will add to the list.
