If this concession passes do you think your O/T will be reduced?
I think you will see that it will now be cheaper for them to work more people with no O/T. After all there will no longer be the pension payment and your H/W will be reduced as well..so now we take the pay cut and lose our O/T that some count on to make up the difference.

of course this could be a good thing if you are on layoff.

just a thought...

Half the labor force is laid off and you’re worrying about your overtime... Typical mester

At no point did i say i was worried about it for myself... you see i don't have a huge mortgage. nor do i have a car payment. nor do i have a nice shiny Harley that i have to pay on...the kids are grown and gone....so i could survive on unemployment rather fine...so don't assume you know something about someone till you have facts...

i just thought it was a point that my brother teamsters may want to consider as they decide how to vote....but thanks for you input:eck13:

No more OT

Whats no more ot mean. I just dont understand! I love my job
I want to work 12hours not just 10. Can you say sarcasim?

I'm tired, I just want all this to go away, so I have more time to enjoy my beer. God is GREAT/Beer is good/ People are CRAZY.

Dave Ramsey says: "Act your Wage"

I take it one step further: "Act your Regular Wage"

Unfortunately for many many people, WAY beyond just YRC, people are making cut backs and sacrifices. Realizing they need to trim some fat on the budget, or start to realize what a budget is at all..... However, I believe those who are humbalized over this ordeal will prosper in the future. It is like a crash course on economics 101, real life style.

Sorry if all the OT warriors can't make their boat, 4-wheeler, motorcycle, jet ski, etc. payments... but it would sure be nice to see some people willing to work a productive 40 hours a week and feed their families while keeping a roof over their heads.

Who is this Dave guy you speak of? If he is a Rush L. or a Sean H. kind of fellow, do not respond, for as they say it's all about entertainment.:shift:

Be thankful you are able to do that. A lot of people dont have that option and have to start making hard decisions and sacrifices..

I am not trying to bash anyone... not trying to "make people realize" anything -cuz i know for some, there is no talking to...

Just felt the need for a little debate. Hopefully some that are still fortunate to continue their current lifestyles will realize the demise of others (at no fault of their own -- and dont you DARE say "should have hired in sooner") and be appreciative, that's all...

Good point....BUT,the more members vote for give-backs the more will opt for early starts and clean-up at end of their shift....

Regardless of who said it..... it is good advice no doubt

Understood, but by saying you must live with-in your means, you must also have a job that provides the basics and may-be some extra. Granted no one I know of predicted this down fall in economics 101, but it is here, and to have a wealthy radio entertainer orate this with-in your means lifestyle now is a mute point. I also feel that their are some of us that have lived with-in our means, but are now on lay-off status and that ='s no money coming in, which in turn means no$$$$ going out. So for this Dave R personnality it is a day late and a dollar short of any good advise in which he has given on this day, July 22, 2009. Peace to all.:shift:

It really is crazy how some people get rich from others demise...sad....

As far as Dave R goes if you follow his advice you would have to make no lifestyle change for at least 6 months after you AND any other money earners in the family are out of work.

Yah, I was thinking that... then I woke up to reality and couldn't find the snooze button :)

Because seriously..... trying to work on retirement funds, etc..... I am unable to save 6 months household salary.....
