For a road driver is vacation pay based on 40 hours or is it based on you average. I've heard both, and am not sure why. If one guy is getting his average and another is getting 40 hours this is not fair.

Road drivers get the average

City drivers get 40 hours pay
 
Road drivers get annual pay divided by 52 weeks divided by 40 hours, so I guess both ways you heard are right.

vacation pay is always more than hourly. example my vacation for 2010 was 36.87 per hour. vs. 22.05 per hour for hourly pay. what is freights hourly pay while your working the dock and per mile driving? nat'l is or was 22.05 per hr. and .5627 per mile

It's both. Let me break it down for the challenged.

Say I made $60000 last year. Divide that by 52 weeks and you get 1153.85 a week. Divide that by 40 hours and it comes to 28.85 an hour. That's what's we make an hour for vacation.

Now go back to your lump of coal.

My bad! I didn't realize how basic you had to make it for people to be able to figure it out where you work! No coal for me....just lots and lots of BEER! Happy New Year Gaurdrail!

Whats the deal with people not wanting to be a jerk during Christmas only, I mean seems like on any given Sunday you can go kill a kitten and punch a baby but how dare you be mean during Christmas.
