The Truck driver told authorities all he knew was he sneezed,and the next thing he knew he crashed.
Oh my sounds like a preventable which is not going to go well with his company.

Unfortunately, accidents like this with R&L are going to keep going up in the future. Hiring inexperienced drivers with the new lower pay scale brings back the old saying "you get what you pay for".
 
Not necessarily.
I've seen situations where highly paid drivers and experienced drivers go to sleep, or their minds wander, and an accident occurs.
Making $5.00, $10.00, or $23.50 per hour don't have a lot to do with it.
 
Well if you heard the reporters remarks in the video.
He said the driver admitted he was at fault due to sneezing,and finding himself in the crash.

You know it is not going to go well with R & L knowing this driver has pled guilty already hanging the company out to fork over all of the money to take care of the damages.
Not only to the company equipment,the claim on whatever freight may have been damaged,but also the 7 cars he took out.

I wonder what he is going to tell his next employer about why his job was terminated?
In my opinion unless he has been a very good worker for a very long time,I don't see him getting a free pass on this crash.
 
Just glad nobody lost their life, and hope the driver heals soon. Thank you Apostolic for all you do on this board, and for The Jesus Inside message.
 
I think that must be just the angle of the photo shot.
If you take a real good look at the lead the green stripe is shorter than that of a longer semi.
 
Bad times for R & L, what with this accident and the one that killed one of their drivers, also in Texas,as reported in another post on this forum. Sad day for all.

Sad to say this is true..... Our out of service trailer line used to always contain about 5 or 6,mostly landing gear or roll up door issues waiting to be fixed...... Now it averages about 30 trailers all with signifigant body and roof damage.Kinda embarrassing too,because they all sit right next to a major interstate where all passer by's can see the damaged line of trailers!!!!!!!
 
Watching the video, notice the position of the camera during the interveiw of the dealer rep. R+L Carriers on the left and dealer rep. on the right. Had to get the name out there. Not complaining, just notice stuff like that. Also said it was an 18 wheeler.......it was a 22 wheeler. Good luck to the driver, hope he has a speedy recovery. City or linehaul guys, Things can go really bad, fast, so be careful out there. Later.
 
Well fella's I don't know what to tell you?
I just surf these crashes and post the links,all in the name of keeping every commercial driver safe.
By making them aware of the negative side of a trucking career.

As far as the photos on any of these links they are completely out of my control.

You can just chalk some of them up to optical delusions.
 
I saw this one. It was the Community Toyota dealership at exit 791 on WB I-10 in Baytown. This was a set and it was a daycab. R&L was rolling west, went off the shoulder, across the grass, across the service road and took out about 6-7 cars in the dealership.

The driver was life flighted to a local hospital but no update that I know of.

The same day, R&L azz ended a Conway truckload up on I-20 close to Shreverport.
