Im a Steward with 776 in carlisle pa. trust me brothers these co. big wigs are going all the way with there filings for article 8 section 4. ive been suspended for 30 days because of it..9 of us at the 135 terminial has been suspended for 30 days but they ****ed up by singeling me out and saying that my production for a day was very low. as you brothers know that production is not privy to our contract they cant use it against me. i cant help it if all my brothers are coming to me with questions about the idiots in command and the way they are doing things. what a joke this place is turning out to be..and my local isnt helping me very much at this point.I hope that the national level is a little more supportive.....more to follow......stick with me brothers I need you more than ever.............
 
i am with you brother/the one to talk to is muler he is on on here sometimes but mostly the teamster forum/he just helped me out of a jam big time and he dont even work for yrc he is a stewart for abf /he got the job done when local 407 couldnt he made to phone calls 1 to gordon s. at the international the other t johnson case solved and he would do the same for you ,because he drools for micoduct like this/he should wier a cape send me a private message ill get you in contact with him or you can try sending him a message yorself on the teamster forum/we must all stick together p.s. when it comes to company misconduct like this he makes the manson family lok like the partridge family/good luck and yoll always have my support

I can sympathize with your situation. Not only have you got to fight the bs that the company pulls but you have to fight the very people you pay mega bucks to watchout for the members interests also. The local should respond immediately when a steward is disciplined.
Perhaps you can get some(the more the better)guys you trust and put pressure on the local to do their jobs and if you have to file charges against the onion with the nlrb then so be it.
Its right in the the contract, ha, that you are allowed time to do your stewardly duties. After all, you're only trying to help others understand the bs that the company and onion don't even understand themselves, and they wrote it! Its a thankless job being a steward. Goodluck.

What EXACTLY has your local done, if anything? The NMFA states that you are allowed time to conduct union business. If your local has failed to support you and are siding with the company, then it is time to request an Article 19 (IBT Constitution) form from the International and bring forth charges against the local under Article 3, Failure to Perform. This will either light a fire under them or reveal for all to see that they are siding with the company and should be removed. Be advised, YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE A BOATLOAD OF HEAT, as the local tries to protect it and calls in all of it's "favors/markers" due. You won't be winning any popularity contests when you start craving away at the fatties in the local, as a matter of fact, you will become "#1" on their list. Added note: You are correct on production quotas. If they used those in Chicago, 309 would be shut down for their production (1.4 bills per hour). Good Luck and Be Careful.
 
I'm with you too. This local has to be the lamest one around. And our BA doesn't know anything. When our other steward contacted him about a meeting with the IBT for tody about this, He was told they are going to wait until the holidays are over!! Which holiday is that!!! These men were walked off the job without warning. They should all be reinstated with full back pay and a public apology from this POS company and some heads should be rolled out the doors also.

I think this might be a test by YRC just to see how much they can get away with before the IBT steps in. You can step in any time now!! Why wait til after the holidays. They were walked out before the holidays.
If this doesn't get shot down NOW, It will be at every terminal soon.

:::shit::: Hopefully someone gives us their recipe of what it takes to get this time off during the Holidays. If I would have known what to do (or not do) to get the time off, I would have given it a try.

More than likely, this is just another case of our 15% and pension givebacks going to drivers that were sitting at home, producing nothing, instead of helping this company pay bills. File the grievances, get your back pay, and enjoy your time off. These idiotic terminations usually gain nothing.

Exactly! And if the Company had any brains they would want it resolved immediately also. Because they usually lose.....they should hurry to get it resolved, then it costs them less in back pay. But, they aren't smart enough to figure that out.
 
Unless of course while examples aren't working the pace picks up and more freight gets moved, then it may be worth the small pay out...................................

Usually a steward thats worth some salt can handle the discipline and other issues on their own but the above bs will require the local. Yes, you are right about any member, my mistake, But I found that bringing in the local idiots more often then not made it worse. Guess it depends on your local.
I predict that they'll get their jobs back but the onion will give up any back pay, you know, the company is in survival mode, boo hoo hoo. The onion has thrown the freight members under the bus.

If my guess was right about the article here is where the company is heading. If they say you caused or were part of a work stoppage a slow down or a unauthorized strike they per the contract can take you out of service for 30 days. And since you said thirty days that seems to be the case.And the union has no right to any recoarse if it is proven. If so the next time they charge you with this you will be GONE! So you must not take this lightly. First of all you need to contact me in a PM. You have RIGHTS! Please don't wait time is of the essence in this matter.
