roogie

I would guess that ice cuBE is probably
looking for a road driver job. Since he
said that he had no freight experience
it would be safe to say that he does
not have any P&D experience.
One thing he needs to know going in
as a road driver is that he will probably have
to work the dock a little bit or a lot???:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

It's been done before, but typically you would have to work your way up from a P&D driver into the linehaul side. In a center that large it would take many years to get to a road driver spot.

They will hire for the road outside of the company if nobody inside the company wants it. Dallas city drivers will have first chance then all drivers from the company then they go outside. At Indianapolis center we had a guy hire in straight to the road 6 years ago, ive worked the city for 5 yrs waiting my time for a spot. Good luck mr. Cube.

I got very lucky,I got hire as an road driver an my barn off the street,We have only 2 road guys.Iam number 2:clap:,and they are hire 1 more now.Its an good time to get hire now, very very busy now.

When we were a real trucking company, we would hire Linehaul experienced people for Linehaul, P&D experienced people for P&D, and Dock experienced/non-experienced people for the dock.

Worked like a charm for over 30 years, but apparently we didn't know what we were doing. Neither here in the west or those in the east.

Amazing.

We all hear you loud and clear but times have changed and the way things were "back in the day" usually dont work in these uncertain times.

I agree, there are hundreds of trucking companies that kept on doing things how they did it "back in the day" and they're not around anymore. Forward is the only way to look.

God forbid the company train people to do different things. That's just plain crazy talk.:rolleyes1:

Amazing.

if fedex is posting for linehaul is it really to drive or the dock.
I get the senority thing but being of the truck for a long time sounds weird
