I have just recently started with con way. My 90 days are up on dec. 21. I run out of XCA.
This job is different than anything I have ever done. Boy there's alot to take in. Most drivers I have meet have been a great help.
When I first started I was really confused. I thought I was hired as a truck driver. The first two weeks out of training all I done was drive forklift, but now i know that learning the best way to load and get the freight to the correct doors was the reason behind that.
Keep up all the great info on the board. It helps us new guys

well, welcome anyways........you're in good hands.

as an aside, ConWay has it's problems, but it's a pretty good place to work.....in the "Big Picture" kinda way.....

Sooo...what the hell does the "Big Picture" look like? I have always wondered about this...

I have been looking for it for years and yet the company keeps telling me I can't see it.

Must be some kinda corporate security thing...or a proprietary info thingy...or something...

The big picture....If we were ever to get a glimpse of it (not sure i want to) it would probley scare the sh-t out of me!!!

If the big picture is that big, why can't anyone see it? Where is it mounted? 23 years and I have yet to see it unless the big picture is about taking money and benefits away from employees, well then I see that picture.

Good luck and I hope that you enjoy your job. Get used to the dock stuff since that is what we are all about. If you want to just drive and not touch freight, then you have to go to work for the people we gave our driving jobs to, Conway Truckload.

All in all, it is a decent job as far as jobs go. Again, good luck and welcome.

we at xca refer to ourselves as XRG cuz we are a ROGUE Terminal :clap::clap::shift:

The only way to see the BIG PICTURE is to have one of those pieces of paper on the wall from a College telling how smart you are. On top of that you have to set back in a leather office chair ,gulp down Blue kool-Aid and wear Blue colored sunglasses while you are counting your stock options and bonuses that has been taken from the drivers.
