In spite of the fact of what's been going on, I'm glad there's a good paycheck coming in, food on the table, money to help my mom and my kids when disaster strikes. My son in law is a trucker and he's been out of a job 3 times in the past year now. He's now having to be back on the road and not around my grandkids as much. I'm still deciding if that's a good thing or not. I wuv my son in law :nutkick:

I have to agree with you there. When in our vows "until death do we part", at the time I didn't know it was a goal.:thumbsup:

The ICP program is a dead issue.

This company has been slowly (at least until last April) but consistently eroding the employee benefits package for years...

First there were the changes to the pension program and then the loss of 10 sick days replaced by five PTO days.

Now we have lost that pension, our vacation acrual, our 401K match that was promised when they eliminated the continuation of the pension program a number of years ago, 5% of our wages then insulted everyone with the 2 1/2% return and increased the insurance premiums to 'wash' the return...they have used the current economy as an 'excuse' to accelerate these takebacks

And while this sounds menial it is important...the elimination of the Christmas dinners and the company picnics is just indicative of the company's perception of where we stand. These actions reflect the company's stance on their obvious lack of respect for the contributions of the person. I am not talking about compensation. I am referring to the never ending, nauseating, rah...rah...rah... mentality these people constantly put forth.

The hundreds of people who put forth the effort to make this company what it is (or wants to be) and yes, the were were compensated for their job duties. But this organization has always (and will continue) been demanding of their people to go the extra mile...be part of a 'team'...well that 'team' mentality for most of us vaporized along time ago...and for many it died 11/03/09 as they screwed 1500 people plus those in Dec of 08 and Jan of 09...and then there is April 09.

I will never for the life of me get over this...every time this 'team oriented' organization announce some additional economic terminations in a video they come right behind with a cheerful declaration of how it going to better for the company as if to say those of us who survived should be happy...and yes I am grateful I haven't been one of those people...however I am not happy. Not only for me but for all those who have lost their employment with a company that demands so much and returns so little...compensation aside...

The ICP program is dead...

Con-Way is not going to pay you that kind of money when thay can keep it for themselves and most likely pay that money as bonuses to the execs.

And then again we must finance Colin Braun in the Nationwide Series...and get a ROI of triple the Truck Series as declared by Bruce M. long before Colin ever turned a tire on the Mustang...

They really think we are that freaking stupid!!!

So please Mr John L. spare me the video speeches of how much you appreciate our efforts just before you run back to your office and plan the next 'enhancement' to my compensation package...you and your kind in this company have lost any credibilty you may have had...and there is no danger of you getting it back!

Good job Rat. I guess the thing I hate worse over the whole ordeal is when we are told we are doing a good job the same time they are shoving it deeper in us.

a good observation of what has happened and a whole lot of truth. sorry to add, but this co. is being over run with a whole lot of rah-rah wannabes that either ignore or are told not to include commonsense or human nature into their decission making, and thats what i am seeing

Trying to compare the day to day operation of this company with ANY "TEAM" entity (either in the sports world, or the corporate world).......is like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time, and annoys the pig.
