Yellow | YRC Will Operate ‘As Usual’ After Exchange Deadline

In the event of a bankruptcy or sale, we would "snap back" to full scale. There would be no reason to close the doors at all, if Chapter 11 is filed. How long would we stay open? Who knows!!!

Not really. A judge would decide how much you make. Good thing the Union already took the wage concession in that case; a judge might have knocked you down even further than now. Now, he'll probably leave it where it is--- if you stayed open (And I hope you do!)

To my knowledge there has not been a trucking company who has re-emerged from bankruptcy. I guess there is a 1st for everything. As much as shippers want to keep their low rates they cannot afford to have freight stranded

The original Yellow Transit filed for bankruptcy in 1951. I have also heard that ABF had a bankruptcy in the late 80's.

Details???

I'll have car- jumper cables with me. Because if the gate is locked and I see people trying to hop over the fence. I am hooking one side of the cables to my car battery, and the other side of cables to the fence. Then rev-up the engine.

How about a little more info on the connections. Would hate to try this and burn out my alternator or worse yet blow the top off my battery.
Is this supposed to kill the fence climbers or just make them kill themselves trying to get loose??? Novel idea...

YRCW: This Cat’s Got More Lives - Stocks To Watch Today - Barrons.com

David Silver of Wall Street Strategies and Lee Klaskow of Longbow Research both think the company will come up with a way to secure the support of bondholders who’ve not yet fully committed themselves to exchanging their notes for shares. Those hold-outs are believed to be looking to get more in a bankruptcy filing, on the order of 50 cents on the dollar versus what may amount to 20 cents on the dollar for the offer YRC is making.

It’s possible YRC may offer preferred shares or dividends to entice the remaining holdouts, says Silver in a phone interview this morning, without claiming any privileged knowledge of YRC’s intentions. Bondholders hoping to clean up in bankruptcy are somewhat naive, he believes. “The bankruptcies of General Motors and Chrysler this year were a turning point for bankruptcy in this country,” says Silver. “Courts have shown themselves to be very sympathetic to companies.”

KK knows his YRC history and is correct. By the way, there is an excellent "coffee table style" book about Yellow Freight called "Legends and Legacy", by Kent Politsch (c) 1999, that came out around the 75th anniversary of the company. There is also a book called "The Roadway Story" about Roadway published about 20 years ago and there is a book published very recently about Con-Way that includes the history of CF and Freightliner in it. Good luck finding the books, but they are out there.
