yrc cuts sales force by another third. good luck growing business with one or two reps in major markets. this is the beginning of the end 15 reps in each division let go today.

And along with those sales reps will go many good accounts.It`s becoming more and more difficult every day to believe YRCW is trying to stay in business.

we just hired more in our area.......maybe they cut them because they couldn't produce? They get payed by a small salary and comission right?
 
OKC/531 fired 1 salesman Good ridance. Former Janitor/dock sup/city dispatch/::shit:: Head. Tried to fire many Teamsters over the years including me. Bahahaha told him and his boss(also fired) that I would out last all of them. :hyper::icon_dance:
 
I heard they whacked the City Sales Manager in Cleveland, and another sales manager in Columbus! They were part of the old guard left over from the former Columbus Div VP who resigned to go to R&L Carriers a couple of years ago! They'll turn up again at another trucking barn!

Well I was producing and was let go yesterday. Smack in the face. I was promised that everything was good at YRC when I was hired in Dec '08.

Well good luck to you toomanytimes. Hopefully in not too long a time you'll be saying it was the best thing that ever happened to you.
 
I'm in favor of them getting rid of anyone that will not produce. There are too many people here that are just drawing a paycheck. As far as the sales people go......If they were not producing, show them the door. But, then replace them with someone with some ambition. We still need good sales people.

I all for that as well........ But in reality most of the mid-level managers,supervisors,salespeople, etc they are letting go were producing, Just they were making the most money, had more vaction time etc......
 
They laid off 2 sales people at 653 along with 2 more Jockeys and 2 more city drivers. Friday and Saturday our yard was anywhere from 35 to 75 moves behind making us wait up to 3 hours for trailers to be moved.
 
Milwaukee terminal (313) laid off four more Friday and management handed out slips to see if they will sign up for the following week. Lay them off and have them come in for work, what a joke! All the company whats is to keep you on a short string. Pull you when they need you and let you hang when they don't. I think this will be the norm for some time! I hope more management gets it, see how they like it.

Thanks for keeping us updated DF!! Hard to believe some think since the debt swap that the business is growing and all the old customers are returning...... Lay-offs,cut-backs, and the sale of more equipment is all that really has happened, Wish some others would open their eyes......
 
The layoffs vary by locations in dallas we are recalling workers.Its just some areas were hit harder than others.Maybe the areas you are in took bigger losses with companies closing. As far as salesmen being let go dallas fort worth area went through this a few months back. We recently had one quit and he is going to be replaced maybe they are just getting rid of dead weight.
 
This is the second round for sales people we only have 3 left now i think. As for our laid off guys I would guess that 20 or more are getting 40 plus hours a week. One of them asked a manager what would happen if none of the laid off worked for a week or more? He said I guess we would have to bring some guys back.

In worcester they let one go and are bringing another guy in from another terminal
 
Laughing....I was in 531okc the other morning.some head sales rep and a tall goofy looking suit were having a town hall meeting with the city drivers or anyone that would listen.one rep was talking about how the night before they were wining and dining some priority shopper accts in that area.I was thinking how rude the meeting was.no donuts or anything for the drivers who actually get things done.maybe one of those reps were the ones fired...I dunno

right.....so the rep gives up a night and time with his family to bring in business and he is rude because he did not bring in donuts. then there is speculation that he got fired....real nice

I'll let you guys in on a little secret, wining and dining customers sucks balls most of the time
