I just wanted to pass along a new renewal plan that XM/Sirius Satellite Radio has available to current members. I had a 5 year plan that I paid $494.51 back in March 2005. When I got my renewal in the mail for another 5 year renewal they wanted $634.55, (which is a boatload of money):biglaugh:
I called XM on the phone and they told me that they could offer me a Lifetime Plan for $461.19 and for an extra $100.00 I could have the Lifetime Plan with "The Best of Sirius" which includes Howard Stern, NFL, NASCAR, Martha Stewart and more.
Under the Lifetime Plan you are allowed to upgrade or change radios up to 3 times for a charge of $75 per instance.
Beats paying the monthly fees.

8. Service Choices: We provide Subscriptions in a variety of programming packages which might suit your listening preferences, and we refer to them throughout as "Packages." Examples of Packages are "XM Everything PLUS The Best of SIRIUS," "Family Friendly," and "Mostly Music." We also offer Subscriptions in a variety of convenient recurring payment plans which might suit your needs, and we refer to them throughout as "Plans." Examples of our Plans are "Monthly," "Quarterly," "Annual," "Two Year," and "Five Year." Not all Plans are available for all of our Packages but when longer Plans are offered they are often priced to provide a discount.
9. Lifetime Subscription Plan: A "Lifetime Subscription" is one that continues for the life of the Receiver equipment. A Lifetime Subscription is not transferable if it is associated with a Receiver installed by an automaker or an automotive dealer in a vehicle, except in the event the original Receiver associated with that Lifetime Subscription is stolen, accidentally damaged or if, in the sole discretion of SIRIUS XM Radio Inc., it is defective. A Lifetime Subscription associated with a home, portable, or dock & play Receiver is transferable from one Receiver to another Receiver, up to a maximum of three (3) times. Each permitted transfer of a Subscription is subject to a transfer fee. If you transfer a Lifetime Subscription from one Receiver to another or from one person to another, you will be charged a transfer fee. The current transfer fee is set forth in these Terms. No transfer fee will be charged for the transfer of a Lifetime Subscription associated with a Receiver installed by an automaker or an automotive dealer if, in the sole discretion of SIRIUS XM Radio Inc., the Receiver is defective. Lifetime Subscriptions are nonrefundable. You may cancel a Lifetime Subscription but if you cancel during the first year of service you will be charged a cancellation fee set forth in these Terms.

About XM Radio

In the past their lifetime subscription didn't allow for getting different equipment, ie: if you get a different radio your subscription won't transfer over. Have they changed this?

I haven't gotten my bill yet ...its due soon ..this is something to think about

I was one of those guys ..I ain't paying for xm radio ...well my kids got it for me several years ago ....

and I'm hooked ... yessir ...

I have a lifetime on one unit. I rarely use it in the big truck because we slip seat and it's a PITA.

Guardrail

I don't go out of the yard without my XM radio. It sure makes it a lot easier when you have a bid truck where you can have the XM antenna and the radio cradle attached on a permanent basis. But for the times when my truck is in the shop I also carry an extra cradle and antenna to use on spare trucks.
Sounds like you guys at FXNL are slip seating both ways?? Like the old Roadway and Yellow guys used to do many years ago???
If that is the case that definitely stinks big time:thumbsdown:
That means that it would not even be worth to run a CB radio either, if you have to be changing trucks after 4 or 5 hours.
On our meet runs all we trade are trailers and we keep our own trucks.

In the past I also thought that paying the extra few bucks to listen to "The Best of Sirius" was not worth the money since I don't listen to Howard Stern. But for the extra $100 dollars in the Lifetime Plan, I can already start enjoying Nascar coverage while on the road.

:icon_dance: I would hate to think I didn't have it especially driving up in the hills of north Arkansas where the chances of finding a decent radio station is between slim and none, if you can get it to come in at all. My truck was in the shop for about 3 weeks and I left mine in the truck thinking I would get it back in a few days as it was only due service. The city driver busted the bumper again.

Being a CDL forklift driver and not spending much time in a truck anymore, it was a toss up between XM/Sirius radio and premium membership on trucking boards, well, ya see which route I took.:biglaugh:

All of Con-way's new Freightliner Cascadia's came with Sirius/XM, until just a few days ago when they all shut off.

The free trial had expired. :|

Since I've had my Sirius I've even gotten the wifey hooked on it, had to get her one... lol
