FedEx Freight | Does anyone have any thoughts on how the reconfiguration will play out?

There are rumors flying around. Moving freight from I-70 to I-44. But thats why they are called rumors. I just wanted to see if there were any other thoughts on this subject. Why the bid was pushed back? It seemed busier last July than this July. I guess we will know when they want us to.

We've got some Sc's where runs are cut every night and some where there aren't enough drivers. Some have both. So to say there won't be some sort of reconfiguration is nieve. How it will play out? FedEx will let us know 4 days after it happens and then tell us to make choices right now or begone with our useless selves.

Guess that's why rumors are rumors. The rumor I have heard is they want to move the freight off of I-44, because every time a truck leaves Ok city to Mo. on a meet n turn, it cost $60.00 per truck to run the turnpike, $30.00 each direction.

i heard on ch 4 news that after the atlantis is retired that daddy fred is going to buy it to ship economy frieght to the moon until its due date. oh well im going to buy a truck and start truckin in mexico. doe anyone know were cheech an chongs crop fiels are?

well how many going by this rumor go to living in ogallala, ne or out in rawlins,wy (to work out of wamsutter ) since they want to keep the freight up on 80 and out of denver. you talk about two hot spots to live

I've always heard there would be some "Tweeking" I just pray I didn't misunderstand, and mistake "Tweeking" for "Squealing"!

Funny you mention this....I was told a couple of months ago that putting drivers in Wamsutter was being discussed.

Good luck to them with the Wamsutter thing they can't get people to live in Rock Springs and it's a metropolis compared to Wammy. there's no place to live they don't compete with the oil companies. Ever heard of Haliburton............. They can sit and look at a map all they want but getting any kind of work force living there just isn't gonna happen!

I totally agree, I'm just passing on what I was told by a creditable person.

it doesn't matter at this point you cant do anything about it til it happens, soooooooooooo stop crying and whining about it. come on here after the reconfigure is done then b i t c h again about how bad it has gotten and you still cant do a damn thing about it.:crybaby:

36,000 employees @ FRT. 4% will be affected. ( 1,440 ) One big cluster ^%$* from what I was told. Only the UPPER management know the grits of it but time will tell.

I'd say that an acceptable number of casualties. I would have expected more. I'm sure there's places where the fat could be trimmed here and there. I would hope that's all inclusive ie: office staff, redshirts, dick workers..
