What is company policy on not reporting a traffic ticket? We had a driver at our barn get one a year ago and they just talked to him last week about it .He said he just forgot to report it to Fed X.

According to company policy, drivers are required to report all driving infractions.(speeding, reckless driving, DUI,,,,,etc) this does not include and parking tickets unless you forget to pay them and a bench warrant is issued for your dumb ass.

As for the driver who honestly forgot to report their traffic ticket, your in a little bit of trouble.
Good Luck Budd

people just looking to get people fired. some people never learn to mind their own business.

Where'd you come up with that? You do realize it's a federal regulation for the company to run an MVR on every driver every year, right? It would make sense that that's how this came about...

oaf

I always signed the yearly form...... to my best knowledge none that I can remember..... I am human and screw up.

Yes, but I think they're talking about when you get a ticket, you have 24 hours (per fed DOT policy) to report it to your employer.

I thought they pulled a DMV report on every driver at least once a year. I know when they pulled mine, I was required to check it out and sign it. Personally I think you shouldn't have to report a ticket until your found guilty, but the company policy is report it within 24 hours. I think everyone is aware of this issue, and forgetting to report a ticket is really a lame excuse. TP

yeah fedex or any other ltl company is very harsh on this issue because the DOT or now in florida its all part of the state patrol anyway they are very interested in company drivers driving records. so companies report all the records to the dmv to keep them off their back. so long story short its usually a firing offence however it may be up to the SCM where you're parked at to decide if firing is to harsh or maybe a suspension.. GOOD LUCK fededx is very anal on not reporting things

Actually, under CSA, the ticket hits your federal record approximately 72 hours after issuance. It stays on, even if you beat the ticket in court. Oh, and lastly, FMCSA notifies FedEx electronically when they post it to your record. So the company finds out about the ticket roughly 4 days after you're cited. This information comes from our regional Safety rep in wht.
