FedEx Freight | sitting at home

Boy, Birddog, someone must be reading your post. You working hard now ain'tcha. All kidding aside, I don't think I have ever pulled so many mtys. But, from talking to the other company s, they are all off. So if you go somewhere else it will most likely be the same. And besides, how would you get all those people in a daycab.

I'm torn between waiting this out or hitting the streets appling for jobs. There seems to be no end in sight of sitting at home with the phone in my hand, sleeping 2 or 3 hours at a time cause they don't follow the call block procedure. Working 2 days a week during, what should be the busy season really makes me wonder what winter is going to bring.

I guess I know you, we ran out of ATL. for 15 years. We retired over two years ago. Got tired of the hastle. I don't miss the job but I do miss the people we worked with. Sorry you had to move just to get to run. I still like to keep up with what is going on there.

you must be referring to worthless

Guys I know it's hard sitting by the phone. Can't fish or hunt cause you have to be ready to go. Remember to file for that unemployment when you can. Can't work a second job cause do you know if you did that counts as bottom line time. If your where to be truthful. But who would hire you when you have to leave at a moments notice. I know stand at the highway ramp before the terminal in part of your uniform with a cardboard sign begging. See if that gets them to call you. Call you out the door LOL. Hang in there.

I copy and highlight what I've done for the week and send it to the person who is suppose to put us in for partial unemployment. I haven't seen a check yet!!

I hope you and your family make it, Sharpshooter! And Bird Dog , I hope you understand that, "I am and always will be on the drivers side". You mis-understood me and you assume that, "now", is any different than yesterday. I've been on call for 24 hrs., and mowed yards all day long! I make chairs in my garage, on call. I've done truck oil changes and grease jobs, on call. I've givin up time with my kids, my wife has worked double shifts at Waffle house , just to make the bills. So you're preaching to the choir. Gravy don't come without the "Blood, Sweat and Tears", 10-4 driver. I have a ton of compassion, but, I only have sympathy for the family of the fallin soldier, the child with "Down syndrome" or anything close, and the victims of violent crimes. So, suck it up and get a second job, or leave!

Now I can only assume you will reply blah blah blah been through that, I put my time in,I use to work the extra board for years and so on. We both know that's not the case because anyone that really worked the extra board for any length of time would never make such statements.

You kind sir, do not disappoint !

You've been living in a bottle if you don't think now isn't completely different then even a couple of years ago.
I've givin up time with my kids
Umm ya, I think everybody does this its called work.Try running wild team for awhile.
mowed yards all day long
Thought about doing this.Problem is,the school kids have that market tied up like the mafia.Bust in on their racket and expect a dozen eggs on your door in the morning.
make chairs in my garage
Sounds like fun.Sadly, I don't have the tools or even the garage to make this happen.
truck oil changes and grease jobs
Mieneke,Monroe, and Joes Quick lube believe it or not, aren't hiring. Let alone dealerships or a truck shop.
my wife has worked double shifts at Waffle house, just to make the bills.
I still manage to pay all the bills myself.Sounds like your a lucky man to be married to a woman that's willing to pick up the slack like that.
"Blood, Sweat and Tears"
Somehow, I doubt you know very much about this. Its always guys like you screaming about how hard they work are the ones sleeping on the off-ramps and wasting time in the truckstops.
So, suck it up and get a second job, or leave!

Nice Longrod, I was ignoring him. He's odviously a real nice outgoing guy in real life since he was able to land all those side jobs. Probably gets sick of kissing tail for them and just needed to vent. After all, isn't that why we come here? BS about work since we know the wife doesn't want to hear it. I know I don't want to hear about spreadsheets and LTD's, STD's etc etc..lol

We where always told that if we did any work during the week we wouldn't get the partial unemployment. We where better off not working.

I was told if you make under 600-625 a week, you qualified for something. City I think is 28 hours. When I was at freight, when it was slow, and they put a bunch of us on inbound dock (working city freight) they kept us right around 26-29hrs a week so we didn't file. Then I transferred to Natl for a linehaul job that was posted for almost a year, that didn't exist. So this starving thing has been going on since 08'. Everybody says stick with it man, it's fedex, but I haven't made over 30 since then, and that's coming from making 70. Sure enough, the day after I decide to leave things will bust wide open though..lol
I've got an email in to the tall guy you probably know Worthless. Ofcourse he hasn't replied with any answers yet. I don't really expect him to really.

You know that might help believe it or not. He helped me with some payroll problems. I really do know how you feel because I'm the budget person at my house and my honey would get so tired of hearing no. That mayo jar would be so clean every last drop was out of it LOL. I'm still the same , so thankful for this chance, even though we had to move. Pray for you that it picks up and things are ok.

Longrod, now thats funny. The truth hurts, and Sharpshooter, you don't deal with the Truth, do you. I've heard some cry babies before, but you won the honor. Spend less time on trucking board, and you might find a job. The only off ramps "I see" are at my destination! Now don't get on your knee's like usual, but suck it up or get out. And, just to let you in on something, "the only venting I do is when someone like you , uses my truck, and I have to open both doors to get the smell of BS out" 10-4 big buddy

I don't believe that I asked for your sympathy to start with, I'm glad that you can make chairs and change oil in big trucks but I don't know how to make chairs or have room to change oil in big trucks. I'm glad that you are that talented but don't come on here and feed me garbage about suck it up and gravy don't come without sweat. I don't even know you but I doubt very seriously that we would get along because I would put my foot up your ... You don't have a clue about what you are talking about so do me a favor and shut up. You don't know my situation so don't try to act like you do, have a nice day DRIVER! 10-4:mad:

on your knee's
If that's your secret to scoring all those jobs,I'm going to pass.
So your only a contractor ??? How do you even have the knowledge or experience of what its like to be a company driver? Let alone one stuck on the extra board. Now,go put your wife-beater,track-pants and flip-flops on and leave the men alone when they are trying to have a nice internet conversation. 10-4 comrade ?
