I guess as long as you have the right size fuse, your radio should be safe from an overload.

Thanks Stoney, i seem to remember someone on here saying something about it. I just want to make sure its right. To much money tied up in this one to even chance something going wrong. i know the memory wire (yellow) on the radio goes to the positive of the battery but then im not sure. Hoping who ever posted on here about it a while back will see and can let me know.

The two slipseat boxes i made, did not need battery backup. The radio had an internal battery to retain presets, Blaupundt and Panasonic.

Also remember that you alway's need to inline fuse everything .Also a little suggestion..You need to have a lower amp load fuse than the truck load supply does. This keep's from blowing the truck fuse. With the lower amp on your line it will blow first before the truck fuse will.Lastly do not put two many thing's on one line..like if you are running a overstock CB you really need to keep it seperate.Alot of time's it will pull to much amp's&more likely to blow.I have learn'd in the one's that I have built.Just keep it simple. The more you do the more chance of problem's.I can say it is better to keep them seperate in wiring.Good Luck.

Also..main safety concern with all box's..Alway's remember that anything in the cab need's to be secured.A seat belt or a bungie cord will not stop a box or anything else from flying in a accident or roll-over.this is a deadly item..I have got my box strapped down with a racheting strap&the box is pushed down in the seat&tightn'd tite. You never know what could happen.
