I remember reading on here a couple years ago about seniority dispatch(p+d) at some terminals..here in Joliet we have no such luck. A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine(senior to me) was sent out pretty much across the street while I was sent out to a place an hour away. We were dispatched at the same time and both on straight time. We also start at 4:00 am...I told him he should be able to file on my overtime but I wasn't sure what article he would file under. He didnt want to so I forgot about it and haven't yet seen the B.A. to ask him. It did get me thinking about something I read on here a couple years ago though. It was the same circumstances but down in LO or STL I believe....the poster had said that he filed a griev. on Equalization of Overtime I believe and the end result was the panel put it back to the members at that terminal to vote on whether they wanted seniority dispatch.....which they did vote on and get. Anybody recall the particulars on that?? Thanks for any info.

Senority dispatch in Milwaukee. Has been that way since they opened here. They try to get around it sometimes, but they end up paying the senior man when they do.

In LO it's senior dispatch when everything is equal. If two people are both at the window awaiting a dispatch then the senior man gets his choice, that's as long as he can get back in time to cover his bid start time for the next day. If a junior man is on straight time and the senior man is already on o/t, as long as the junior man can make it back before going on o/t himself they can give the run to the junior man instead of the senior man. I hope this helps a little.
