Just a question, some major companies are suggesting their emoyeess to in good physical health. They are implementing excerise programs, encouraging their employees to be active and avoid the Extra pounds.

So, are there any new DOT rules, that require drivers not to be severally overweight? Like the rules of having high blood pressure, dibeaties etc...
Some guys & girls have had too many pieces of Momma's cake or Flying J's deep fried burritos..... You get the picture.

Disclaimer- I'm as guilty as the next guy, when cake is on the table.

No new rules I can think of, but staying physically fix only makes good sense. Its a lot easier when your younger to get on an exercise program, especially if your a line driver. Companies are pushing good health habits, because that saves them money on the health and welfare bill which comes right off the bottom line. If you have a blood pressure problem, then your medical card is only good for one year. Like Confucius Says "If I knew I was going to live so long I would have taken better care of myself". TP

Awwwww......

You still look good in your uniform driver and you Mom always said you were her perfect little man.

LOL...a driver @ our place asked our CCM,SCM what ever they are now...and I quote " I don't care about the 1/4 bonus they took, what if the company would pay for a health club membership." the manager then stated " well your health is up to you not the company." I looked at the driver and said " theirs your people first polcy.' You would have thought I poked the mgr in the eye...wow

Our wonderful government is trying to push new reg. concerning health&being over weight...But, has we all know it will be held up in the court's for yrs. But,yes they are trying to change the guidline's for CDL's.

the new law is all about sleep apnea, 38 percent or higher bmi, or 17 inch neck or over will get you tested, the people who make this stuff up wants the fat drivers gone, and the skinny illegals in, just my opinion

You shouldn't have to worried about that Fish lipps..You look like your in good shape,But imagine the commute is killing some of your free time...

You are full of something...and I have an idea of what it is...and it ain't sexy!!!!

You mean, you guys didn't know about the exercise program at Freight? It was implemented years ago. You even get paid while you workout. And boy, some workout it is... DOCK WORK!!!! You stay in shape, and FedEx doesn't spend a dime on workout machines!!! After "working out" all these years, I'm such "GREAT SHAPE" that all my joints have some kind of wear and tear, pain. We should be so blessed that we have a workout program like this. The envy of the industry!!!:biglaugh::hysterical:

I looked the BMI Body Mass Index information up this morning and some sites are saying that if you are 30% or higher you have to take the sleep apnea test. I am 5'10 1/2 and can't weigh over 195lbs. Right now I weigh 215 which puts me in the Obese catagory. Kind of hard to diet when your eating enough calories to stay warm on a fridged dock with the wind blowing all night. Maybe I could go back to smoking so I can maintain my weight. More government BS sticking their nose where it doesn't belong. I wonder what they say when the grocery store runs out of food cuz all the fat drivers can drive anymore?
