I am all about safety and helping others to be better at what they do. But, are we getting it shoved down our necks to the point of choking us to death? Sign, sign, everywhere a sign. What put me over the edge is that I went to a service center that I hadn't been to in quite some time. When I got there and was breaking up I noticed a sign (another one) that said, "sound horn 5 times before backing". Are you serious? 5 times? People wonder why trucking companies are banned from certain areas in cities. One extreme to another. I always thought we were pretty safe as a company and although we have had some unfortunate accidents in service centers over the years, is there a point to blowing an air horn 5 times before backing? This is a very small service center. Very little traffic and maybe only 50 doors.

I am just saying. :confused:
 
Thats just AA's way of covering their own asses. When something goes wrong, it can be pinned on the driver. But there was a safety policy in place.We know that those making the rules havent a clue.

We expect everyone to return home safe gentlemen.

Maybe in the hills of O.C. with houses on the other side of the fence?

So how do you like it at UPS? They are the only ones I know that blows the horn that many times as they backup.
 
Well at least we will know from now on who the dumb azz is on the long Blades as he has a tall Bright Orange Cone on top of it !!! Can't miss it !!
