I worked at holland briefly in 99, great operation, could not work "forever" as a casual.
The units don't have yrc on them that I can see, I heard holland branched off, is this true?

Customers ask me the same question. I tell them "please don't associate Holland with Yellow, just put Holland on the Bill". But off the record, yes we are unfortunately still bound to that POS.

No we don't have the yrc emblems on our equipment but we are a subsidiary of yrc.

A subsidiary of YRCW----- YRC Worldwide which has many companies under its umbrella that includes Yellow Roadway as well as the regional.... Holland, New Penn, Reddaway....YRC Glen Moore, and the china company.... there are probably more.

HA HA LOL just as much as we are at Reddaway

They managed to intangle all the money between all the companys that these holes were given credit to buy so now even if Holland and Reddaway are doing OK they go down with the main ship which is know best for taking realy good companys down.

not necessarily true brokenwrench all of regionals operate totally separate from yrc[yellow roadway].holland new penn and reddaway has there own main office ,sales team, our checks are still coming from our main office not overland park, kansas.just keep in mind brokenwrench that the banks are calling the shots not zollars and yrcw.the banks are all about money not trucking.if the regionals are making money it looks good for a potential buyer.also keep in mind that the pension and pay scale can be renegotiated with the employees if it came to a vote and i'm sure it would be overwhelmingly approved among all three companies.holland new penn and reddaway.

So your saying that this pension thing is not a done deal? We will get to vote on it seperaratly?

I'm saying if there were a potential buyer that the pension and the pay can be negotiated between the buyer and the employees. Holland new Penn and reddaway.

what about the unfunded mandate? The amount of money that is owed to the fund would have to be a part of the deal. The amount that is owed is greater than the value of Holland, New Penn, and Reddaway.

Everything is negotiable in a sale...as long as all the parties agree.

It's just like buying a lottery ticket....... you can dream as longs it take as the ticket has more drawings. Don't take away their dreams:Omg_I_gets_present_

yes the regionals are a hot commoditie right abougyt now.and the dream about being sold or bought out is still alive.

holland has never been part of yrc. holland and yrc are seprate companies in the yrcw corperation.it will be yrc that either gets spun off or sold.... not holland or new penn or glenn more or reddaway.. just like the conway- cf story. dont be fooled by the name game -(they can always change that)

I always take the bragging done by Holland guys w/a grain of salt. Please don't think I don't believe you guys aren't hard working or anything. The points you guys miss are sales and management based. The company has a centralized sales office. They quote different rates for the different companies. This allows them to redirect freight where they chose. They control the management and overhead (expense) fees. They can assess those to SBU's (Strategic Business Units) as they chose. This means they can make or break the numbers in ANY SBU they please. I believe the main reason you do so well is you are regionally focused in a section of the country where most of the freight runs. You have a better ability to generate a higher return per terminal for this reason.

I would look at Holland as a company before yrcw got a hold of them .... they were top notch then ..... not as much now.
