Frito Lay employment information, careers, jobs

Good luck trying to fill out application online closes down and says not hiring I went up to Frito Lay here in NC guy told me keep trying to apply online kind if hard when driving a truck all week

I got the call from Frito lay today. I got a interview on the 17th. I also had an interview at the steel company yesterday. The steel job sounds promising but I gotta start in the warehouse

They make sure your mindset is right. They also hire you with the expectation of you retiring from Frito.
This job is not for everyone. And they make sure of that. If a guy wants to just drive or doesn't want to work nights he is not for here. A lot of guys hate being on call. A lot of people do not want to unload.

In order to work here you have to be flexible. You also have to have a complete open mind and willing to do anything at anytime. Also work holidays just to top it off.

I had 3 people grill me for three hours. They made it very clear that you will hate this place somedays.
They were right ;)
I do love every Friday in exchange.

Question, if they hire you with the ecpectation you retire there. What is the magic? On call, anything at anytime... Those catch phrases have me running most of the time. Money and vacation the draw?

Yes and stability. Like you know this is not like freight.
Our retirement is the best I've ever seen. Pension plus 401 match. .50 on dollar to 4% and after 5 years they match up to 6%.
After 10 years you are fully invested into the pension. They base it off your 5 best years you have. (I've seen that alone about 2200 /2400 month from senior guys)
After 2 years here you become a bid driver (just like Conway) you bid today for tomorrow's work. If you need the day off. You don't bid. And hope you don't get forced. That happens sometimes.

Plus out of Topeka our average driver pay is 78,000 a year. We do have guys in the 100+ range.
We start out at top pay. Benefits from day one.

With my situation it might not be best for me. I'm a single dad and I base everything around him and try and do what's best for him. I'll know more after my interview. Sounds good but it sounds like I would have to give up alot to start
