Central Transport | union

I don't work at Vitran anymore, but I'm willing to bet NO!!!! If you so called heard that, I'm sure you would have heard what city/terminal not a USA terminal.

they say a usa terminal went union is it true:clapping:

Not likely, but if it did, Vitran would shut the terminal down faster than $hit going through a goose. Happened in Detroit back in the late nineties. The terminal in Detroit voted the unon in and Vitran closed it within a week and serviced all of Detroit from Toledo until around 2003.

To union or not to union....That is the question to which we all know the answer....No.

and Appleton WI in mid 2000 area from what i was told, managers were either quitting or let go in a hurry, dispatch was out of Milwaukee, until terminal re opened a while ago with a fed ex manager running it

their financial profile says "predominantly a non union company" on wall street, always wondered where the union was

they also had bar code scanners years before we even thought of getting them. if it's true they're union in canada, no wonder they want to shut the u.s. down, they run a risk of losing their $weet union gig.

I have seen this happen personally, I used to work for Transfreight for several years, we had a cross dock in the metro Detroit area. There were 28 drivers and routes throughout Michigan and down into Ohio.

There were 3 seperate votes for a union which all failed. Before the 4th vote, Transfreight closed the cross dock, eliminated all 28 driver positions and outsourced the routes.

Don't go union, when Vitran goes belly up we don't need anybody blaming it on the Teamsters. They already have a bad rap as it is.

The media did the same thing at Wonder Bread, blamed it on the Teamsters. Nobody had the facts except the people that worked there. Management ran that company in the ground. The CEO and his cronies got huge bonuses that were approved by the bankruptcy court.

true lamar is the steward there lol

No I never worked there. But, I used to be steward when Kimack and I worked at CF. Kimack was the St. Louis VP and I worked out of the 'OK Corral' back when Shep was a pup.

Do any of you guys remember when Vitran closed Rockford and another terminal out west for voting union? PJAX close Philipsburg and Baltimore for a time also.
