Ha! I ran to that place many o' times. Just like the name implies, snow, snow and more snow. High altitude freezing azz center. Ugh!

Snowshoe - a device to help you walk when it's too damn deep for your boots. Probably not the right place for trailer trucking...

SNO has some good runs. They do a 650 mile day meet with TER, and I think they meet IND (don't quote me on that) You would be going on a 150 mile shuttle to POS. Snow Shoe, PA sits on top of a 9 mile mountain above State College, PA. 30 miles West of the center is the highest point east of the Mississippi. If you get a kick out run to BUF, hold on tight! Most of the running is on I-80. Not the best taken care of road in the winter. It all depends on the county your in. You can be on nice wet roads, then cross a county line and be on 6 inches. They also run to NWB, YNG, NHS and I think HGR. The positive is, that its a pretty laid back center. The only thing there is a grocery store, laundry mat and 2 truck stops. That's it....

Thank you for the info. Been awhile since I was back east. But don't Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio have speed restrictions for commercial vehicles that would make 600+ mile runs impossible ? That run to Buffalo must tighten the sphincter on the local Pa. and NY highways in the 6 month winter up there

Ohio raised the speed limit to 65 a few years ago... They found that all the trucks were bypassing the Ohio Turnpike in favor of 2 lane roads. The residents of the small towns were getting quite upset, as well as Ohio was losing a lot of $$$ . Indiana is up to 65, however I don't know about Illinois, that's home base for communists and leftist, so they are probably still 55. Yeah, the BUF to SNO is awesome..197 miles of goat path, smack dab in the middle of lake effect snow area. Many nights, they just don't make it.

It's not bad, if your born there...if you move there from someplace else...it's a cold hell..lol

Good Jobs are tight up there in central Pa. I noticed that snow shoe has a lot of openings. That is prob not a good sign. Whats has them quitting ? No steady work ? Bad Management ? I would think in that area guys would hang on to a fedex job

Oil jobs...............

There is no drilling in NY.. The liberals of NY are working to make sure it never happens. The gas well drilling in PA has slowed quite a bit. You can find dirt parking lots with gas well trucks just sitting there for weeks. The market is becoming saturated with natural gas. They just drill and cap. SNO center hasn't really lost people from what I understand. They are just in a perfect location. They sit smack dab in the middle of PA on I-80. At night they bring over from POS and NWB loads going west for day runs.
yea its booming in PA and upstate new york..
