Not sure how it is at other terminals, but my home terminal is a joke. There are literally new rules made up every day. Now you can get written up for not clearing out all the computer messages or not taking exactly 30 minutes for lunch (heaven forbid you only take 29 minutes). Like it isn't hard enough delivering freight all day to customers who all have bad backs & trying to drive safely in a city full of yahoos. We no longer bid on start times which means that drivers with less seniority are coming in earlier than guys who have been with the company for years. And the ones that come in early get to leave early, so that the same guys are having to work late every night. Used to be you bid on start times & everyone understood that no matter what time you came in, they could work you as late as possible. Whatever you do, don't question leadership about the way they are doing things. Then you have an "attitude". Not like they're gonna give you a real answer anyway. I don't mean to sound bitter or complain about my job, but I've busted my butt for this company for a long time & I'm tired of getting treated like dirt. Never mind that my numbers are awesome every day. The pay is good, benefits are ok, but I think I'm going to have to see what else is out there.

maybe u should run the road? Is that any better?

Beach Boy u can look but what is out there is less than what u got now... Before u leap, look at where u are going to land, its barren and hard.

The 30 min lunch is probably due to the new HOS rules. I do line haul for A Duie Pyle. We now must take a 30 min break. Before it was not mandatory. I

Yeah 29 minute lunch will put you in HOS violation. I can understand why they're stressing that so much. Word on the street is SEFL is already having trouble with it's CSA score - mainly due to hazmat violations. So don't be surprised if you see them tightening up on that in the very near future as well. The rest of your post sounds like an issue of poor leadership. If leadership at your barn is truly lacking, take your grievances up the ladder. And anyone you can get on board with you to corroborate your story will make you all that much more likely to be successful in finding a solution. Good luck. You mind telling me what region you're in?

I understand about the new HOS rule, but it would have been nice if they had told me about it first, instead of jumping down my throat when I didn't comply with something I knew nothing about. Heaven forbid you miss a meeting, because no one will ever fill you in on what was covered. I don't want to sound like a whiny truck driver. I don't mind working hard, but I expect to be treated fairly & equally & it's just not happening. If you work hard, they expect you to work harder. That way you can pick up the slack of the drivers that drag their runs out all day & make no pickups. Those drivers get to come in at the end of the day & go home because dispatch doesn't want to deal with them. I end up going back out a couple of times & working late every night. I don't think it's going to do any good to "go up the ladder". Our boss got this job by knowing the right people.

Well you may be right. It may not do any good going up the ladder. Won't know til you try though. There are people in place within this company to handle things like this. Contact HR. One thing is for sure, doing nothing will result in the same ole same ole...

you contact H.R. as soon as you hang up the phone they are calling your terminal and letting them know
that you just called and was complaining about this or that.they may not say nothing to you but i bet on your
daily route you will start to notice freight on your route that was suppose to be on a different route and you will
began to be out later and later.this company is a joke and the one"s they have in charge at some of these ter-
minals i cant believe they even allow them in the freight business. when i was hired here years ago things were
different and as the years go on they just get worse,i am trying to find employment else where, may have to take
a small cut in pay but at least i will be able to spend more time with my family.good luck to you that stick around
cause sooner or later you going to wish you had of made a move sooner.

We have quite a few ccm"s that is like are president, been in
office over 4 years and aint did nothing but hold a position.
That so called ccm in norfolk,va,wow i would not even let
him sweep my parking lot, what a dunce..and i just lay over
there 2 times a week..........

one of the p&d drivers in norfolk,va was terminated monday because the dispatcher a few years ago made him drive a truck that was deadlined for an exhaust leak which was bad enough he ended up in the hospital.the supervisor was not even giving a day off for this,he should have been fired.now this driver is out of a job and know insurance and still has doctors appointment.driver is suffering from problems which are caused by long term conditions from carbon monoxide poisoning.i think this is wrong the company should have fired the dispatcher and kept the driver.the more i think about the people that say this is a christian company the more i would like to know just what kind of relationship they really have with god.this driver did what he was told to do and now he is the one suffering.believe me driver when i say i am a christian and you have know worries, god will handle it..........god bless you for your service to this company and all you did as a driver........ TOBIN I HOPE YOU READ THIS,YOU SHOULD BE A SHAMED,BUT WE ALL KNOW ITS ABOUT THE MONEY NOT THE RELATIONSHIP YOU HAVE WITH YOUR EMPLOYEE"S........

this driver still out of work and having problems and sefl fired him for somthing
that was there faught. TOBIN remember you have to stand before the lord and
answer for this...........

The only real BS in going linehaul is dealing with the arrogant linehaul drivers that won't mind their own business. And I can't wait till they make all of us linehaul drivers wear uniforms, writing an action up on that.

The bottom line is we are behind on pay and insurance went up. Keep drinking the cool aid. CULTURE AT SEFL DOES NOT PAY THE HOUSE PAYMENT OR PUT YOUR KIDS THROUGH COLLEGE.
