TForce | Rumor about Hrs.

I was also told Giz did no about this issuue, It is called CYA...You dont think that these super duper union officals is going to take the blame for theire screw ups.

There was another driver that came to Hrs, he was told he had to quit and get rehired on in HRS. what the CRAP.

The skunk is left loose and its starting to smell.

Yeah I know all about the driver out if Greenville. Management knows the rules, why did they break them? I do not know if it is a CYA case or he really didn't know. All tge times I've seen certain rules apply to some people and not others, it's been the company making things that way. And it happens an awful lot.

#.1. I heard he was working temporary and is on loan. #.2. Was told this incident transpired because the wording in the new tentative agreement under the MOU will allow employees to transfer to another center ( if there is a opening) but everyone jumped the gun on that because the contract was not ratified. This is bogus because this person started in HRS in May and IF the contract was ratified it would have started in August. therefore this employee would fall under the existing contract and would have to start as a new hire, as all other have done.

True. And I think he was there in late March early April. But who knew about his existance in HRS 100% no questions abut it? The company. They also know the rules. But if it's the right name, who cares about the rules?

as long as he went tot he bottom of the board i don't see a problem . 5 years ago when i was hired chris chubb told us in orientation that we could hop from one terminal to another as long as the terminal your moving to had openings, and when you moved you dropped to the bottom of the cartage list and kept all company time.

also the company can pull "past practices" and bypass the union on it all together ,2 guys i know of ,1 i was hired with moved from HRS to other terminals freely both went to the bottom of the boards at their new barns and kept company time as far as pay ,earned vacation time, and pension.one went to miami and the other to portland .

Going to the bottom of the board as a new hire is how it's been done for the last 5 years. No longer keeping your company seniority such as your rate of pay & vacation time. This guy from Lexington got to keep these things. The guy from Greenville had to start completely over. I'm sure you see the double standard being used here.

Thank You that is the point I wanted to make.

If they use past practice then the guy from Greenville should keep his pay, vacation time , etc and not have to give it up. Be fair to everyone and not just a few. there have been pleanty of people that wanted to come to HRS. they were told they had to quit that terminal and get rehired as a new employee but (kept company senority) but had to give up theire pay scale, which does affect their pension. No problem If driver is all rules apply to everyone. I just want to see whom will gripe when these driver start jumping ahead. Did you just say cartage ....that did not happen here he went to the road that is the difference

OMG!!! Most of you on here are candyasses!!! If someone is harassing you, Take it off property!!! Your like a bunch of little school kids crying on here anymore!!! Grow a pair!!!

Harassing? You have comprehension problems. Maybe you should take me off site big guy.

In the past if you transfer terminal because you were "following" the freight, you kept all seniority rights. Would this apply?

When I became a driver 5 years ago after spotting for 12, they told me I had to go to the bottom of the board and take a 10$ an hour pay cut and lose vacation time. I told them to puck off. Not worth it got a .25 more an hour. The following week I was a driver, only lost bidding seniority. This causes problems. No work I'm "on call"' not "laid off". They can't lay people above me off since I'm not laid off due to company time. If they post days off they are supposed to go by years of service not by job classification seniority. They want everyone to quit and get rehired to make it easier on them. Less crap to figure out.
When I retire in 13 years I'm waiting for all the grievances from all the driver with more stick time. Crying that they have been driving longer so I can't retire.

Been told if they open a new terminal and I go. I will be on the city board from DATE OF HIRE. Not changed classification. To get 12 years back..... PRICELESS.

following freight is different.
if your following freight you keep your seniority, vacation time pay etc etc. but the company has to go to the employees and say were moving freight from here to there . you have this amount of time to follow it or you stay.
3 or 4 years ago they moved the york pa hub operation to harrisburg and there was 6 or 7 that came up and kept everything, and bumped in where they would have been on the seniority list.one of the guys that came up jumped to number 1 on the hrs cartage list.

i'm dreaming of the day they move freight from harrisburg pa to like texas or somewhere warm. i'm getting sick of winters .....
as far as i know they didn't move freight for anyone to follow from anywhere down south to HRS. hrs did take a lot of newburg NY freight for like 8 or 9 months but they've been slowly routing it back there.

I never worked any place that allowed a transfer because they had an opening. To do that it was always start over as a new hire. A change of operations and you follow the freight you keep your seniority at your original date of hire. You dovetail in. Allowing a transfer and keeping pay and benefits is a definite advantage to us employees. Even if go to the bottom, as a new hire you would be there too.

The company had to know. Then agian Giz had known, that is his job, thats what he get paid for. Matter of fact the B.A was the one that had to check and find out if this employees dues were paid up before being placed on the HRS. board. As I see it the local union officals have a common trend when they get caught in the forbidden cookie jar. Famous words are: I DONT NO, it must have been the steward. I knew NOTHING about it.
