Yellow | Major Meeting In Overland Park This Morning?

I have been with Yellow and YRC for 23 years. After Yellow's over zealous purchases of Roadway in 2003 and USF Corp. in 2005 and the subsiquent collapse of the economy, there is no way YRC is selling the "cash cows". This is the free cash flow money they are using to rebuild the YRC Freight ship which was just thrown together over night at the insistence of the banks.New Penn, Holland, and Reddaway are all union also.the only possible purchase that everyone needs to watch for is YRC buying ABF. Trust me, this is not going away. That is the only union company left for them to get entangled in this vicious Webb of deceit.
Yes, but when you continue to drain your "cash cows" & not put anything back into them such as equipment, technology ect. the value of the company depreciates to the point where selling is the only option. You can only rob Peter for so long....

When YRCW bought USF, they bought Dugan, Reddyway, Bestway, Glennmore, whatever that consolidation company and Holland. And some say Red Star also. Look what's left, Holland snd Reddyway. Wrench if they could get 6-800 mill for Holland, they would be fortunate considering what was paid out originally.

That's my point, I was being generous with a pricing guess but selling half of what they bought even if New Penn is included in the deal is not going to pay off all the debt and eliminate interest payments, if they sell for more then it's ABF's way of paying for the elimination of YRCF and nailing the coffin shut.....................................

If you believe in Santa Claus skip this post. The rumored sale of Holland to ABF would be a disaster. You've got to get your heads out of the clouds. What possible reason would ABF have to purchase a competitor? The snap back provision is certain. But snap back to what? There is NO NMFA. So what will ABF do? If I was ABF there seems to be only one logical reason. Eliminate short haul competition. With the added dividend of recouping some of the investment by liquidating Holland. The only real question is will ABF merge Holland or simply close the doors?
Sorry if this upsets some but clearly this is a real possibility.

If they do that,if will be a disaster for them.one only has to look at acquisitions of the past to see that future.buying a co. to get the freight always results in the buying carrier losing their a## & competitors with the freight on their wagons.

I didn't say it's a good idea. Just a possible motive. And ABF did OK with Carolina.

Wow I can tell you guys do a lot of thinking going down the highway at 62 mph!

Holland is a regional carrier and ABF is a national carrier that does a little regional work. I would "guess" that ABC would use Holland as YRCW does now, as a stand alone sister company that would make ABC money, just my opinion if it were to happen.

I never said you said it was a good idea. My CF buddies tell a different tale about the merger of ABF / Carolina. I wasn't there don't know anymore than that without researching it. Look at the other ones though...

No way of knowing. But it will require a whole new set of negotiations on a contract. You think Judy wants that?

What? You don't believe in Santa? I saw him myself last year land on the roof at the ridge!

They all are leveraged to the hilt. What do they have that is worth 2 cents ?
They may own a ladder to climb on to the roof with, but the safety harness you need to have on to do that is over their credit limit.
