Yellow | Hearing tomorrow for 9 guys walked out of 135

The bosses know the difference between working ugly freight and trailers that don't produce a high bill count and pulling a slow down. These guys are probably a bunch of whiners like the doom and gloomers on here.

We don't need their kind at the phoenix known as YRC!

Phoenix???? More like an albatross.

I haven't really seen any posts where YRC actually violated the NMFA. There are a lot of perceived violations. I used to peddle with a '48 and I was hassled about taking 8 minutes to go 1 mi. Anyway if and I mean if anyone is stupid enough to play games in these times there will be a huge price to pay. If all the nay'ers had their way YRC would be gone. The union can't and won't help stupid game players

Drivers are milking this dead cow getting sour by the day. Claims are only getting higher and the O.R. getting worse. Theft is a daily occurrence labor and management alike, no one cares what happens to this company where Im at. There just there for the pay check and when that goes away there all prepared to move on...union included..it is what it is!! Evidently you no longer work cause if you did you would make so many silly comments!

Theft was never an issue but milking the cash cow was..damage claims were $80-$100M a year. Brainless supers..trucks loaded like my a$$. They never cared about the customer, this went on for over a quarter of a century. So what's new bro?

Roadway runs it now.

Claims have always been an issue, just like the IB 309 loads have been ones nobody wanted to work since I can remember, somethings stay the same, it's just that with the cash being tighter then ever everything that costs is more painful.

New Penn had damage claims that high ? That was your company ,right ? Floor loaded ,no double stacking? Or are you talking about another company that you did not work for? Double stacked, turned skids, take loose carton freight and fill in the spaces? I work with former New Penn workers, while they are good workers, never saw a trailer stacked and packed.

I'm talking about Roadway, the company I worked for. Load factor was the main concern, not damage it seemed. Break-bulks never mastered the art of -destruction. Our inbound came from Tannersville Pa, also known as Stroudsville120. Didn't the master of disaster work out of there? :9529:
Maybe the boys in Tannersville were just venting:9529: Who knows, maybe that had something to do with closing the big bad break-bulk in Stroudsville
To the poster from elitist Holland--take note, your company doesn't have break-bulks. Hence, a big savings in cost and time..
not a management thing

welcome to hell

West Haven, the terminal was renovated to a business retail like it was never there

We've probably crossed paths then Joe. I use to run in there back in the day when we ran the back road over from 84 off exit 11, rte. 34 across the dam. You probably remember Carl, ran the place in the evening. You guys used to pump some freight out of that place. Use to put the bills in the scale house, on a friday night or sat. morning they'd have 30 or 40 loads, 42 footers out of there. If you got one less than 44,000 you were lucky.

Ya guy, I remember Carl, he passed about 8 years ago. We were so busy then it was ridiculous. They used city drivers on weekends for time and a half and sometimes during the week with city equipment to run Tannersvile or Boston. Yellow built a large terminal in Middletown and moved all their terminals in the state there. Roadway moved all their terminals to Cheshire in a leased terminal then to Middletown with Yellow. Estes bought the large Yellow terminal in Middletown so in the latest coo YRC is moving back to the leased terminal in Cheshire. Figure that one out but I'm sure they made millions on the deal

Sorry to hear about Carl but to tell you the truth I would have thought he passed some time ago. He was up there in years back then and I was a young buck in my early 20's. Didn't know they were going back to Cheshire from Middletown after moving to Middletown from Cheshire but I'm sure it was part of the "comprehensive recovery plan".

Copy, but to move from a large terminal they once owned to a large terminal they are going to lease. Maybe they sold it for mega millions and leased it back, it's in an industrial park.
I wouldn't doubt if they buy back in a few years
