Yellow | Hearing tomorrow for 9 guys walked out of 135

Joe, I worked at the Stamford terminal for 10 years and I think some of the guys that were there originally came from West haven.

That is true, the West Haven terminal was opened first, way before my time. Roadway bought Conn. Motor lines and expanded in New England. When they opened Stamford the I guess the bottom guys had to go.

To the poster from elitist Holland--take note, your company doesn't have break-bulks. Hence, a big savings in cost and time..
First off, I didn't even comment on the thread, SOOOOO :fingure:

Second....You have no clue what you are talking about most of the time. You have no idea what actually happens in the "real" world at the terminals nowadays. My guess is that you spent too much time under the boss' desk to even know what used to happen at your terminal. Therefore, you continue to live in the same fantasy land that you did while you served your time.

Third....You obviously have a boner for anything Holland. So once again, I say :fingure: And I also don't care if you agree with anything that I post. You are just wanting us to all bend over, so you can keep your retirement flowing. And you know damn well that you would have voted no to these concessions and work rule changes, if you were still working.

You took a unprovoked shot at me....did I happen to mention :fingure:

I'm talking about Roadway, the company I worked for. Load factor was the main concern, not damage it seemed. Break-bulks never mastered the art of -destruction. Our inbound came from Tannersville Pa, also known as Stroudsville120. Didn't the master of disaster work out of there? :9529:
Maybe the boys in Tannersville were just venting:9529: Who knows, maybe that had something to do with closing the big bad break-bulk in Stroudsville

welcome to hell

Sorry driver ,or, retired driver, i mixed up my meds, drank too much cough syrup, and chased it with some coke and rum to try and stop the voices in my head from talking to me (did'nt work ). Or i had you confused with another know-it-all from another freight company. Anyway i don't know why they closed Stroudsville,or the hundreds of other terminals, could be loss of freight market share. Or maybe they think they will make millions on selling off property for lease backs , guess it should be called Yellow Real-estate Corp. Last time i looked Stroudsville is still for sale, that could be a tax write- off ,or they can get an extention on the taxes owed. I guess shrinking your way to prosperity is the new norm ! At least you got rid of the high cost structure with all the give backs , now you can compete with the competition and maybe get rid of those "greedy pigs " from the other union carrier that want the contract honored,or those pesky elitist Holland workers !!

Bob, I mean bad, do a little research on mega-mergers..this is what they do slash, slash, and slash. Sell sell sell, hit hit hit, shrink shrink shrink...get rid of capacity. I flunked out of Harvard business and finance. But I think JP Morgan will sit on property that's for sale for years if necessary and make mega profit when the market returns. And maybe YRC is shrinking to a size that meets freight demand levels. Who knows why they closed Stroudsburg, maybe Maybrook was a better location..a few miles down the road. It wasn't just YRC that collapsed bob. GE, GM, and the whole world collapsed. Bad management bob?

Tannersville(120), was called Stroudsburg, Close enough to Maybrook, NY to use MBK as the New England/NYC breakbulk.

And if you were yellow you have to remeber how hard they tried to close maybrook. The union gave them fits because they held them to every word of their work rules.
