Randy Cammack, secretary-treasurer of Rialto-based Local 63 of the Teamsters and vice
president of Joint Council 42, the umbrella group for 144,000 Southern California members, said
the union is publicly taking a neutral stance about YRC Worldwide's request for more contract
concessions. Ultimately, the 26,000 workers who are covered by the contract will be the ones
making the decision, he said.

Cammack said that there will probably be a lot of mixed emotions on the part of the members,
pointing out that six years after the start of the Great Recession, "these are not the best of times"
for blue-collar workers in Inland Southern California.

"The feeling is, and I don't know how deep that runs, is that people are concerned about being
unemployed," Cammack said.

Cammack said some of the mixed emotions involve disappointment combined with frustration
about the company's inability to get onto solid financial footing.

"There is anger that the company has not done what it needs to do" Cammack said. "They've
made bad decisions."

A neutral position???

Mr. Cammack, exactly what does that statement imply?

If Ron Carey were alive today, not a single Teamster officer would earn a salary over $100k.

By the way, Thanks!

ANd some years later still this Yellow Ruined Company still had debt of 1.3 billion with give backs of 3.4 billion the company is still 1.4 billion debt.. And here you heritage Yella pukes thought Mr. Welch was gonna get this turned around after he fired the remaining Roadway folks.. Guess again,, he isnt the Messiah you all thought he was,, just like those record profits under this fool prior to the Roadway buyout.. Keep hittin the peace pipe..

When YRC decided to pay only 25% of the pension, the union trustee decided that he would not allow that. He gave us a 401K instead. Now, no one will come to YRC out of the hall because they won't work for a teamster unionized company without a pension.... Driver shortage created.... Another reason we weren't allowed a 500 hour pension per year was that the other unionized companies would want that also. I have been hearing that some of the other employers are asking to be put into the 401k plan. The reasoning for taking away our 500 hour per year pension did not make much sense. The plan has recovered it's losses from the recession, and little by little the muti- employer pension plan will have less contributors, thanks to the union trustee.

They decided to only pay 25% when they got back into it in 2010 I believe,, but from what we are hearing and I dont know how true this is, all monies paid into the fund are going into whats owed rather than going forward.

Neutral means they don`t have enough balls to vote it down and the vote will be a unanimous approval at the 2-man meeting!

Yellow who, your one of the tipicle big R brainwashed mentality yes men I see at the big R terminals I go to, Roadway was the best, they could do no wrong! The Yellow pukes as u call them happen to be your Teamster brothers. They aren`t the ones who made the poor decisions that wrecked this company! The only reason they had faith in Welch is because he was with the company so long and disagreed with Zollars about the decisions being made. Yellow was owned by YRCW just like big R and all the other companies, it was a good company to work for when we were separate.

Totally agree. Its not the driver's fault that yellow always was and always will be a pos parasite "company"

Oh turst me yrctrucker I was never a big R yes man,, and I will say I did vote for the first 10% because I felt it better to give back 10 then take a chance that Zollars wouldve shut the POS down,, after that every concession got a no vote form yours truely.. As for blaming the rank and file for the bs that your leadership has put all of the YRC companies thru,, once again you are wrong.. All I ever heard from the YFS membership was how this is all Rs fault,, well here we are once again being led down the same path that Zollars took us down many times, and by none other than Welch,, another Yellow man.. You will never hear me say the Big R was perfect, they were actually very militant like before Yellow got involved,, but I will say I never once worried about a paycheck in the 20 years before they merged Y and R.. No its not the rank and files fault for any of this,, but your so called Messiah James Welch has made no improvement on any of the debt left by the ever so great William Zollars,, actually the debt has gone up, and hes fired many of the upper management that we didnt need.. You guys wanted this man back and here he is,, and nothing has changed,, we still go to work everyday,, still give back 15%, & pension,, and the debt gets higher,, that just doesnt add up to me,, but then again Im just a truckdriver. As for my rant and name calling I do apologize,, a few to many Yeunglings will do that..

First off, MY opinion. You can agree or disagree. I don't care. Yellow? Roadway? YRC is the enemy!

I believe both brands each had their own loyal customers, and had they stayed separate today, YRC would have cornered over 50% of the LTL market.
Instead, greed, dishonesty, lack-of-integrity, along with the childish idea of "YRCW will own the largest LTL company in the continental United States" has left the remaining 26,000 employees AND their families, in a environment of fear and uncertainty. Right before the holiday season!

I, myself have an honest question which I don't believe any employee has ever answered.
Why, after the merger, has the YRC corporation used the R operating(computer) system, used the R waybills/DR's, PUC number, and RDWY abbreviation at the railyard, when picking up/dropping off trailers?

hanalad, I had heard they went with the outdated R computer software because it was paid for, where as the Y software was leased and it wouldve cost the company millions to keep using it,, as for the rest your guess is as good as anyone else..

Also, all the things you named along with the computer system, run off that system. If you look in the pouches of the tractors, there should be a sheet in each one that shows R as the surviving entity of the corporation. They had to choose one or the other. Do not know why they chose R, but do know that Mike Smid was the one who made the decision to use the R computer system. And from what I understood, H is right in that Y's system was leased and the cost saving's was needed.

True that! Thats what we do best, doing things the right way and saving money!

It don't matter at this point if it is a R or a Yellow problem... (I do have my opinion) It is a YRCW problem!!! Greed was their incentive, to be the the number 1 in the trucking industry!!! I DO BELIEVE YELLOW BITE OFF MORE THEN IT COULD HANDLE WITH THEIR BUYING SPREE!!!
...
I just wish you also added WHO WAS WATCHING OUT FOR OUR MEMBERS BEST INTEREST!!! WHAT WAS IN IT FOR OUR IBT, AND THE LOCAL PUPPETS??? The companies I understand, But the IBT, and their local puppets are the ones that has let us all down!!!

This can't be a Roadway vs Yellow, or YRCW vs ABF/UPSF PROBLEM... THIS IS A TEAMSTER MEMBERS VS IBT AND LOCAL PUPPET PROBLEM!!!

WE NEED TO HAVE SOLIDARITY AND TAKE A STAND AGAINST THE CORRUPTION WITHIN!!!
