TForce | HRS Working on New Years Day?

It is a holiday the company is claiming that by giving us the 31 off they don't have to pay for the first wrong I'll file for the double time and giggle all the way to the bank.

They will pay us time and a half for hourly pay only. If you are a road driver like myself, Mileage does not count. Just remember, If you start at 9pm on the first, Your only getting paid time and a half for the hours that you work on the 1st only!!! After midnight, Straight time only!!! That's ANOTHER loophole in the contract!!!

What contract? The only difference between us and the non-union is we pay dues...

UPS gets away with anything they want and the union laughs at the former Overnite employees they never could organize. You know like Conway, FedEx, Estes, OD, and all the other non-union carriers they know they can never organize. However, they will always be good for petty grievances.

You are 100% wrong. I know because I started at 2130 on a holiday night. My whole dispatch was 1 1/2 times mileage rate/hourly rate. If you start on the holiday, the whole shift is premium pay.

Not according to my TM and Operation supervisor. What section of the contract says that we get paid time and a half while on duty that day?? We do know that we get the 8hrs of holiday and the time that we work. I want to clarify this with my management.

Ok here's a question for you. You start at 2200 Thanksgiving eve. Do you go on premium time at midnight? No you do not. They can not have it both ways. And tell BB he got this right on the road, don't go making it an issue he's gonna lose again. As for te TM he came from NBR so I'm really not sure how much he knows.

We have been told that we have to work and that it is all time and a half pay for both mileage and hourly for the complete shift.

Nsh schedule runs are all running new years day night. Besides a relay run. I guess we will have to wait to see the outcome of this when the time comes. I wouldnt stress to much about this, my stress is %100 on this "2minute man quicky contract. Well anyways, i hope all my TEAMSTER BROTHERS AND SISTERS HVE A MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.

Roadrunner is right we filed because we came in at 9 pm on wendesday and got off Thanksgiving morning and was told that we we started the day before so no hoilday pay after midnight. So therfore the entire night will be 1.5 times the hourely and miliage rate they cannot have it both ways.

New Year's Eve is not a holiday, news years day is. New Year's Eve is a limited service day. I have never heard of someone being paid 1 and 1/2 mileage, mileage pay is already considered premium pay.

There are none, article 18 section 3 states the opposite:

"All hours worked on Sundays or holidays or on the seventh (7th) consecutive day or in excess of ten (10) hours per day shall not apply against the guarantee but must be paid in addition to the guarantee."

You may have never heard of it but it's in this contract. I have collected on it a few times. And I was refering to New Years Day which is a contractual holiday. But please, keep believeing management, they have your best interests at heart, they really do.

...we also have had drivers get the time and a half mileage and clock time...but normally they just make the guys wait till 1201 after the holiday...Merry Christmas guys
