Averitt driver hauling for Dollar General was lost then got stuck on R/R tracks.

I hate to say this but....The drivers on the Dollar General account, are not the BRIGHTEST LIGHTS in the room.....WTF was he trying to turn around on a ONE lane path......LOST MY A.. he probably was a driver from the NEAR BY DOLLAR GENERAL DC......

Maybe Averitt as well ALL LARGE CARRIERS will begin implementing INTELLIGENCE TESTING (I know, it's a stretch) to help the company reputation, so all large carriers could, maybe at some point in time, regain what THEY USED TO HAVE: Stellar reputations for only hiring WELL QUALIFIED DRIVERS, you know, those drivers that can DISTINGUISH between good and pathetic maneuvers.

CK...most of the drivers for this account are fairly new.....When I 1st started out I was not the greatest thing behind the wheel, but that driver should have known better than to try something like this!.....again you see this happen all the time!

Averitt can't keep drivers especially with their pay scale…not one cost of living increase in over 10 years…if and when they do bless us with a raise every 3 years or so it is 1 cent…they have been reduced to recruiting from driving schools...

Stop It ! Stop making sense. If they did that they would have to up the pay and benefits, and that is not going to happen. Especially now with the influx of foreign drivers willing to work for 30 cents a mile.

Or less...I've spoken with team drivers from FLY BY NITE outfits from California, bringing in LTL freight from the West Coast, splitting .28cpm.

Splitting 28 cpm?? Good grief there needs to be a minimum wage implemented for truck drivers!! Wow

I talked to a driver a few years back who told me he and his partner were splitting 32 cpm. He said he needed to be in the truck for 5000 miles a week to take home a little over $500 a week after taxes. My partner and I were splitting 65cpm at the time. I gave him info on coming to work at UPSF. I wonder if he ever made it. He seemed like a decent kid, well spoken and personable.
