FedEx Freight | Will be Union before long.

we will never be union! Most places getting to RIGHT TO WORK STATES and with all the young kids getting hired they think this job is the best thing since internet p*on! little do they know unions are the reasons we get good pay, insurance. vacations paid days off and so on you think fed ex wants us to have such things?

The Union can not guarantee ANYTHING period.And as coming to work with my tail between my legs I have never nor will I ever work for a company like that. I'm 54 years old and have been trucking since 1979. I don't go to work every day in fear for my job. FXF can come up with all the BS rules they want. I will play there came. I get paid by the hour.At our terminal we have a great boss (Former Driver). He doesn't like the BS anymore than we do. We just play the game. It's really pretty easy. You do your job like the company wants you to do it. They write your paycheck ( the union doesn't ) and just do the best you can everyday. If you don't like the BS go some where else. It's a free country ( For now anyway). If the unions are so GREAT why are less of them now than ever??? I'm tired of beating this dead horse. I'm not a group or club type person. I'm a free thinker. I don't like the union mentality.

And quite honestly, when i was looking for a job, i wanted to be in a Non-Union shop. Not that the unions do not do a good job. thanks to them, many of us are better off, than without them. That being said, i am NOT paying dues for the same set of rules and paying out even more than i am now to taxes, insurance, 401K, etc,etc,etc.The Unions cannot and will not guarantee anything, period! Neither will any company you work for, so get over it. I am so sick of the ******* cupcake generation that has the I have to make this, I have to work this many hours, I have to make 3X or more that is necessary. And when rates go up and business goes down, guess who gets the short stick. Yep,US. are far as management making good money, yes they do. they also make the hard decisions, and when the **** goes wrong, it is their heads that roll real easily...........the risk is what it is. this is why many companies go under, it is because labor and the unions refuse to compromise at all. if it comes down to " well you make 40 dollars a hour, but we need to freeze your rate for now so we can add equipment and houses so the company can move forward, i will take that deal. because at that point at least i am still working and not in a unemployment line looking for a handout. and worst comes to worst, we are protected to a degree by the DOT, the FMCSA and such.
 
When do we get our trophy? I was promised a trophy for showing up. You mean I actually have to work? Oh poo...now I'm going to pout. Might even hold my breath until I turn Viking blue.

That was then this is now. It's not 1998 if your talking about when nas,chi,cle,stl all tried in the AMERICAN FREIGHTWAYS days... We work for a different company and the TEAMSTERS UNION has changed just as the company we work for has changed dramatically.. NAS actually never voted and yes I know the union pulled the vote becaouse they were focused on OVERNITE back then. Well it's 16 years later and times have changed dramatically..
 
Your a sitting duck with a target on your back at fedex freight. What do you think about this new score card ???? 20 points and your done ??? Why aren't we even entitled to know what's all in the policy ???? Trust me it's for real we just had the meeting in CGT were im domiciled out of last week.. Wake up people we are sitting ducks......................correct me if im wrong.............
