How many employees are going to have to resign and go to other companies before Welch and his team realize the pay is just too low to be competitive? Even new hires have been walking out of orientation sessions after being told about the 15% wage reduction. I'm sure YRC will eventually stop telling new hires about the 15% and just let them see it for themselves.

I here ya brother , but at 313 they`ve been hiring guys like crazy. They must not be telling them that their giving 15% back . Just a matter of time before they figure out that Estes is paying 14.50 an hour for part time and they don`t pay union dues.

Welch and his team believe their compensation package is 'competitive.'

Kudos to those that listen to the spiel and choose to not participate.

I applaud any who can decipher the hype and make their choice.

Still, there are still some who choose to take this risk.

See post #3.

Lets see how long it takes before they swallow their pride and admit that there is a problem with their low wages!

One more time folks! Nobody wants into this kinda life! Even less do with the **** ass wages YRC wants to pay out!

On the other hand El, I know a young guy who was in receiving at a warehouse making 10 dollars an hour full time, and went to Conway full time dock making 14 with insurance where he had none before. Not saying it is great but everyone's situation is different.

Well, in the Right-To-Work states the company could use AGV's autonomous forklifts.

Product: AGV for unloading trailers - Material Handling Product News

Which would increase productivity and eliminate work injuries, high paying employee wages and benefits, employee shortage for positions, and the miscommunications between customers, oops I mean employees.

I would not worry, because the company would probably never do something like that. Your Robotic Company???

Yes , all of the other companies have a HIGHER starting pay ,with NO union dues or union joining fees and newer trucks to drive , and they are NOT telling them about the -15% when hiring them !!!! maybe Mr. Welch should share some of that big bonus money with the driver's ??? guess its time for more freight to sit ,till the pay scale come up & treat your drivers better !!!!!

New hires are not on a giveback. They gave nothing back. They know what their wage is when they start.

unless each locals have own rules ?? , all of our new driver hires & part time dock guys are giving back -15% , and they was not told in the job interview about -15% , other guys told them , so are maybe correct in your local , but for our local 695 , they are giving back -15% .

The company could use the (PIECP) Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program, where it allows prisoner inmates to work for private employers, and at the same time save tax payers money for the state.

Again, I don't see the company doing something like that neither.

Giving back 15% of what? They gave nothing back. They weren't here for the vote nor was their pay ever reduced because they werent here. They have the deduction but what are they deducting it from? They are told what the starting wage is and thats what they are paid.

Well, some of the recently hired part-timers came up to the union steward and asked him what "equity wages- union " on their pay check meant. They thought that all that was for union dues . So obviously , it was`nt explained to them that their original hourly is supposed to be $14.00, but because of a 15% wage reduction they are now making $11.90 an hour. I guess it is possible they were told they were going to be making 11.90 and they just did`nt understand "equity wages" on their pay stubs, but knowing how our management does`nt always tell the truth ,I`m sure they were not told in advance.

As always, R, it's about perspective.

Go to Home Depot and get some plywood to make help wanted signs and put them by the Atlantis.
