Central Transport | Over 16,000 shipments picked up yesterday....

After fighting for the past 6 weeks in trying to get my pay that CT has failed to pay, I finally got ticked off and quit. Glad to be away from garbage equipment and a management team that does not give iota about the driver or dock workers. Glad to not starting @ 6:30 make 10-15 p/u's and del's and return at 18:30-20:30 and putting on over 300 miles everyday. After all that to have to strip your truck and load to a line trailer. This company is the poster child for why unions were formed. Next step is to file a complaint with the labor board and talk to my lawyer.
You did yourself a favor.....Even though it's never good to quit a job without having another one....But this is a special exception.....Now you will be forced to get out and hustle to find another one (depending on your financial situation) but you did the right thing my brother and don't second guess yourself. In the long run you will kick yourself in the ass for not getting out sooner and wasting too much time there. There is no way this could ever not be a winning move.

Letter the trollers troll....keep hating while they keep getting more and more freight....

That's 6,000 bill growth in 5 months and still holding low 90's on time %.
In all my management years at Vitran we never saw low 90's.

Status updating shipments as "appointment pending" does not mean you are delivering on time.

And the best you can do is use that trick on 90% of the shipments?

Can't you get the office girl to stop texting long enough to "appointment status" all 100% before she goes home? Or has CT lost the bills for 10% of their shipments, so the girl doesn't have the pro numbers to update them as an appointment?

No more office girl. Dock leads appt it before taking out a city peddle to run.

Seems like an awesome accomplishment, but the problem still is CT's reputation proceeds them. Really bad customer service and a majority of drivers who dont care along with cheap rates....while other better performing carriers like old d , fdx, UPS and conway pride themselves with SERVICE. all phases..... i have had terrible experieces with CT. tell you what all the 800# . i guarantee that you will wait at least a half hour for a customer service rep to pick up....--half hour ---really ? ok , now you have a quesiton about a shipment...they have to call the terminal.....your on hold at least another 10-15 minutes....why ? theres no-one at the terminlas to answer the phone.....i'm not an expert on customer service , but i dont see this business module sustainable......so, congrats on 16,000 bills...sustain it and grow it over a year that will be an accomplishment.

All I had to do is look at a CT truck years ago and said, no way would I work there, pretty sure turns out I was right, and probably the main reason for some more bill count is under cutting the other guy...

Snark Monkey is 100% correct. If a shipment is going to miss service they will APR or APT it. And this is not done at the barn, this is done in house at corporate.

Lovely way to fudge the numbers and make yourself look better than you are

So are you guys saying that if I want out of groceries and want to go back into the crazy easy world of LTL I shouldn't apply at Central Transport? LOL.

I did 7 yrs in LTL so I know the work.
