Holland expanding service area, at who's expense?
Note the new permits for 2015 have added Florida, Louisiana and South Dakota....Holland does not serve these areas...BUT, YRC does....whats up?

Why permit them for areas covered by YRC already/

Smoking gun?

kinda a sign changes will be coming, on WHO hauls these states ??? and maybe more downsizing of YRC's area ??? and plus our old trillion mile trucks are good to go for more states !!!!! lol

I would love to be back in a 2003 sterling. ....2014 Volvo is nice but. ....miss the old job.

Waiting for Erie to reopen. .. I know it's never going to happen. ... but one can dream

They do cover a small part of SD including Souix Falls, out of Worthington, MN. Fla and LA is uncharted territory

I drive a 19 series Sterling and it is one of the best. Rather have that then Volvo or International.
it has power and handling and it is clean. Great city truck

It's only licensed for 68 grand. Do you guys run half load season weight all year round?

Its called "LTL freight trucking," so we truck the freight. Letting freight rest while trying to jam more and more into the pup is called "LTL freight sitting"

Just saying it would be hard to coordinate linehaul movements if the load was over 36 bushel with limited licensing, unless most of the loads are less than that. I loaded a 53' heater a couple of weeks ago with 52 bills 47500# and it just axled out. The company loves the load factor but the drivers hate the heavy loads.

Some are 68k, others 72k, and a few are 80k,,,depends on what they're used for. Mines for 72k and scales 38k pretty regularly. We also have a few 80k ones for heavy lanes

your really smoking something,31,500 mt,you would have to really be a dumb ass to even leave the yard with that garbage load.Holland don't own anything that would scale out 47,000 even with a 72,000 plate, which are few and far between anymore.

Are YOU smoking something? All the line haul trucks that I've been in lately are plated at 72000 and I have scaled 42000 coming out of Spartanburg through the gorge to Ohio with out any problems!

42,000 is not 47,500 last time added up weights.look up the states,I bet you every state is not plated for 72,000.like I said you can not scale 47,500 with any Holland truck period.

The tractors used for LCV's are still plated for 80,000

I should have mentioned that I work north of the border in CANUCKISTAN. Most of our highway power is sleeper teams and licensed for 90000 lbs. With an average linehaul move being just over 1200 miles load factor is an issue. Most of our loads are directs and high and tight and packed right with deck bars and dunnage. We used to be licensed for 120 000 lbs when we ran pups years ago (tandem lead pup with 52000 lb max and single axle con gear with a single axle kite).

I delivered to an axle/suspension manufacturer a couple of weeks ago and they are ramping up the manufacturer of 3-axle suspensions. The foreman I talked to said the US is going to 100K gross in 2017 with parts of the current interstate system converting to toll roads.
