XPO | Raise

The biggest reason I want to leave is the fact that my barn has no good runs. I don't know what kind of runs you have down south Beer, but the barn I'm at has only one good mileage run and you have to drive through Chicago traffic to get there. The OD terminal here has nothing but long runs and there's no dock work.

I'm sick of the culture of this place. I'm sick of the condescending college-idiot management that always has a ****ty attitude about everything and treats their drivers like dirt.

I'm sick of the dock. I don't mind running a forklift now and then, but working 5-6 hours a night on a crowded dock with a bunch of scumbag dock-workers that don't have the slightest idea how to load freight is getting to be ridiculous.

I'm sick of LEAN. All it does is suck the common sense out of everything. I don't need an SWI telling me how to do something that anyone with common sense should know how to do. And honestly I don't want to work with the idiots that think this garbage is a good idea.

The first 2-3 years I worked here, it was decent. Back then, the dispatchers and managers were former drivers and knew what this job entailed and how to do it. They listened to their drivers and took their opinions into account.

Honestly the only reason I've stayed this last year is because my wife was pregnant. now that the baby is here and the medical bills are paid, I'm free to leave.

But the REAL REASON I don't want to stay here... I've seen how far downhill it's gone in just the last couple years, and I'm honestly scared to think what it will be like in another couple years...

Yeah, it's great to be on top pay and be making bank, but I don't know how much longer I can take it...

That first line says it all.. no good runs...yeah..thats increasingly becoming a problem.

There are alot of things in the past that were non-issues that are now issues. The cameras will be huge issues at some point. But OD has them anyway so it will be an issue for him there as well.

They have them now?
Its really not an issue..I'm not just saying that..they've actually saved a couple people here from being charged with an accident.

And it doesn't help when linehaul cuts our runs and makes the bottom 6 guys go on our ****ty 130 mile bottom run, then have us hold loads for the good runs for other terminals to come through and pick up. Then the loads coming home get via'd through as well.

Then every time we try to hire a new guy on linehaul, he gets sent on the bottom run for a week and quits because that FAC treats everyone like crap.

It's garbage like this that I can no longer stand...

we had a guy not faulted by the cops in an accident and faulted by CW with the camera footage only to go to ERB and have it overturned.

Really? That must be a fake mounted up on the top of the windshield. Ive seen them on every OD truck around these parts. But then again you know everything there is to know about trucking.

That's probably the main reason I still work here and will sink with the ship if I'm driving a truck. My barn has a lot of good runs that I can bid and hold. That really makes all the difference in the world.

That's the lane departure sensor. Every Cascadia has it.

Just because you have no idea what you're talking about doesn't mean I know everything...

I'm in the Central region and we got no raise at our barn. I wonder who decides what each barn gets.. Wonder if it's the regional MGR or above him.

I'm not mad, It's really pretty sad and didn't expect much but it's really a **** poor way to do business and a crappy way to treat your drivers. I'd be ashamed to own a company and tell an employee I was giving him a raise and not do it. Or take his bonus and tell him it's now his raise.

We earned a 2% quarterly bonus last year and the 1st 2 quarters this year. You can probably already guess what they did. They took the 2% quarterly bonus we've been getting and said that would be our weekly raise 2%.. So instead of getting it quarterly we get the exact same thing weekly. Ohhh and the potential to get a 1% quarterly bonus if all goes well. Sooo IF we get the 1% quarterly bonus we would be at a 1% raise over what we got last year and for the 1st 2 quarters this year. 1% equals out to $10 raise for every thousand you make but as I said there's no guarantee we'll get the 1% bonus so we really didn't get anything over what we were already earning.

I don't understand the ideology of work your a$$ off and help us make money and we won't give you raise. It's pathetic and doesn't give much incentive to put forth more effort. Things like this make me embarrassed to be associated with this organization.

This is why there's a driver shortage. These companies want good drivers but don't want to pay for them.

Stick to you union arguments. I work for od. No cameras union man. What u see makes a rumble sound in the speakers. No monitoring. No questions. You have it so good having to pay for your own employment with 15percent of your pay. I wouldn't join a union to save my life. Once your union, you're tainted.

Why don't you go hang out with your buddies on the OD board. ? We have enough problems here..don't you think?

I guess some of you guys just don't get the big picture.Back in 2006 when they made everything Conway, one big happy family that the wages would even out over time, well the lie continues, not putting in our defined pension, no 401K match, that our retirement would be as good or better than Teamsters, where the hell is all this stuff at ??? If you notice every couple of years they come up with some dumb ass project that's supposed to make everything better, that costs millions, Has nobody learned that Conway cannot be trusted, man get it together guys...

Wait tell the first of next year, when you have to start paying you own insurance. Con-way all has to pay is 2000 dollars a year for obama care.

The camera is a good thing. The bad thing is how they are using it. Stike for this, stike for that. All it is for in a drivers stand point in the future, a way to can you.
