Yellow | What If!!!!

Roadway Services spun off Roadway Express. Roadway Services then changed their name to Caliber. Roadway Services spun off Roadway Express debt free.

We all know how that scenario ended! Caliber=a sinking ship.
Corporate expected Roadway Express would never survive, but just the opposite happened.
Too bad currently, "the" other corporation doesn't get it!

And what sense would that make. Yrc is a YRCW co. The rest were not. So spin off the regionals and proportion the debt to each subsidiary by their operating income then let the chips fall where they may

Will not happen. YRCF is still the majority cash cow. Research the earnings. If you cannot locate the breakdown, I will post it for you.
I have only researched YRCF vs the subsidiaries. I'm uncertain whether YRC breaks down the subsidiaries by company.

Perhaps Roadway Express was spun off in preparation for FedEx to buy the majority of Caliper.
From the time Roadway Express was spun off, to the buyout of Roadway Corporation, were some of the best years to work for Roadway Express. Imo.

My opinion is YRC will try to split/spin off our subsidiaries within 5 years, like Roadway did with Caliber Systems back in 1996.

Back then the people who didn't want the union wanted to close the Roadway union side. The supporters from Roadway said no. So they split Roadway and all the nonunion. No debt on either side. Within a short time the nonunion side failed badly and folded.

Google Daniel sullivan III to verify what MUD is talking about, The buyout of caliper systems was planned before roadway express was split off.My opinion!! Mud is right, Roadway Express was a good place to work after they were split off from roadway services.
