FedEx Freight | Teamsters Roll Call...Who's getting the ball rolling?

Yall keep saying "dont negotiate a XX contract, negotiate a Fedex one"

Ok, who?
Me personally?
No, a collective of all drivers (many of which are idiots, and can not even balance their checkbook)
Is that who will devise our contract? If so, PASS.

At least half of our driver pool is dying of old age, and the new hires have zero work ethic.
Yeah, I can imagine the contract they would be willing to settle for after the scare and doom crew have filled their ears.

Do some of you believe that we just sit down, say "Ok, free healthcare, $2hr raise, bi-yearly,. 85c per mile, ect, ect" and its just handed over?

You think a union barn wont have strict safety regs?
This is the world we live in. Liabilities are expensive, as well are lawsuits.

Please, come visit me. I have some super real estate deals to offer you all!

I am sorry, I do not have an answer, but a union is not going to make everyday at FX like Christmas.

Not looking for money or free health care, but a safety net from fire happy managers!

I feel sorry for a fellow that cares less about the ones that have years to work. He does not stop to think why he gets what he gets now. I would not even argue with someone like that who has no conern for his fellow man. How did he get where he has arrived? It was not him for sure. Who does he think is working paying into social security while he is retired. He is certainly a lame duck.

No it might not be Christmas but when you can get fired for how you climb in your truck or how you pick up a dolly its gone too damned far.... The last couple of meetings have been about new and inventive ways you can get sh@t canned, it didn't exactly create a lot of positivity...the company as a whole is doing absolutely great but that of course wasnt mentioned oddly enough.

Who fights for you if you lose your job unjustly??? The Labor Board. If you think so, try them out. I was in the business as an over the road driver for almost44 years and have been retired 17 years. Steward for years and also a Business Agent. You want answers, just ask me. The union is only as strong as the members make it. If fellows are unhappy where they are they should look in the mirror and maybe they will see their answer why things maybe going wrong.

Very simple... A firing of someone because of race, color or he just not look right to the party that fired him.. I don`t want to get into this as I have
sat into too many hearings that the fellow was fired becasue of one reason or another UNJUSTLY!!!

Please. Go sell that "brothers" crap elsewhere. I have seen the effects of not voting how your "brothers" vote.
5th wheel handles pulled, personal vehicles vandalized, personal threats, homes having rocks thrown through windows, and other brotherly like actions.
My father in law did 20+yrs with yrc, uncle did 35yrs with the usps, another uncle did 25+with a GM plant.
I have seen, and heard how you treat your fellow man, when he dosent go along with the other sheep.

Did someone actually get fired for getting in/out of a truck wrong , or was that the straw, on top of 2 dropped trailers, a fender bender, and a cracked fairing?

At least be honest. You know good and hell well no one was fired for a single instance of getting out of a truck wrong.

No...but you can for a second offense of getting out of the truck wrong.
Im sorry, but if you actually got yourself fired for multiple instances of something as simple as getting out of a truck the wrong way, I dont have a hell of a lot of sympathy for that person.

Sorry for my errors in writing the last bit. I don`t listen to hersey as you have not presented any argument to my statements. I only want harmony on the job. I retired from Holland Motor Freight and it was very nice working there. I can comment on a lot of union companies where the management treated people badly. There are pros and cons on both sides of the fence. Just keep a good work record and watch out for yourself. That also involves into our everyday living. In the long run, nobody will lookout for you. Your comments about the brothers doing what you say is far and few between. If you get any of these actions done to you, look in the mirror again.

Ok, explain it to me.
Start from the top, and lay it on as to the process of installing a union, and negotiating a contract.

I'm not going to do you homework for you. Look up negotiate in the dictionary. They have them online if you are opposed to books.

Bull snot you and your cheerful nobody loves me attitude brings out the best in the people you work with

So, NFBS, I get the impression your vote is no.
Ok, got it. I'll still respect you in the morning.

What makes me mad, is that im coming across as defending this place. Which couldnt be further from the truth.

I could fill a phone book with things that I dont agree with.

Stop sign ticket in your personal vehicle counting toward your FX points?
Absurd.

Also, I still contend that you guys do not utilize the HR section of this company.

"waaah, the redshirt talked mean to me! UNIONIZE! "

If anyone is actually talking to you in an abusive manner, I promise, HR will not stand for it.
I have seen entire mgmt teams wiped clean, in one swoop when I was at Express just off numerous employee complaints to HR.

So, you have nothing to rebuttal with, other than the negotiate definition?

Yeah, you're done here.
