FedEx Freight | Any news about a re alignment for auguust

Popcorn what the hell are you smoking? do you not remember when freight took all of our freight. In the beginning and national had a very smooth operating linehaul. Not like freights hurry up and wait bull while we pay to to sleep inside your truck untill your bills are ready. If anything economy freight or should I say Los de national is running way better then priority but I'm just a driver IMO.

Do you remember when the man who was running National M.M. left abruptly??? He is a sharp guy who would have never hired hundreds or perhaps a thousand drivers all of the country for nothing. If You think about it now he was also blindsided by corporate. It is nothing personal... it is just business. If you aren't steering the ship you have to jump when you see trouble ahead. He did and now we have merged so let's get it over with.
 
u guys kill me about the national ::shit::. I wounder what u guys bitched and whined about before they even bought watkins? it must have been really boring since all u guys do is complain about national. have a great weekend wondering what the national guys r doing.

MM was too busy hitting on ladies in every terminal he visited....Eventually, it caught up to him.
 
I'll tell you this. Be ready for more moves. Freight died here and we're hauling sailboat fuel all over the place. And now I hear Watkins has reopened terminals in Shreveport and Albuquerque. A friend of mine has a picture of a Watkins truck being loaded at a FXF terminal in Shreveport. I'll have him send it to me and I'll post it.
 
That's right. And then there was Fedex Freight Canada, they just seemed to emerge from the shadows about a year before the purchase of Watkins. And now they are Watkins up in Canada. It is just business... nothing personal right.

The only way to get into Canada is to buy a company that already has authority.... I don't think you can just go up to Canada and request rights to be a carrier there like in the USA.
 
I would say we had to merge because National didnt take off like they thought,prolly due to YRC hanging on.

Its about time someone said the real reason for the merger....had YRC went under fedex would have needed all the capacity and drivers they had with both opcos.In the journal of commerce it said fedex freight and national during 2009&2010 lost over 430 million dollars so they pulled the plug!They put the cart before the horse and it didnt happen,they lost that money waiting for YRC to go away.:moon2:
 
One of the reasons Fed ex bought Watkins was for there holding north of the border it was cheaper to buy them then to continue with the third party we where dealing with

In late 2005, or early 2006 WML announced it was a billion dollar baby. We were the 7th largest ltl in the nation. That source can from the company rag in our break room. This,(WML's) Canada, hub, the rest of our business, and non union co. were FedEx's primary motives for acquiring WML in MHO. I LOVE FEDEX!

The economy hurt everyone, not only this company, I think they had the merge in mind the day they bought Watkins, I think the economy just expedited their decision.
 
I think Fred bought Watkins because he is a patriot and really liked the red, white and blue stripes on the truck.

LOL...everything @ our place is TOP secret...hell half the guys that got thier pay on...6/11 did'nt even realize we gat a raise...we never had a meeting or anything...we got our info from others @ other terminals....as far away as TX...talk about the twilight zone.:confused:we only know what they let us know...hence..go to work:shift:do my job , go home:1sm364jumpbed:LOL

we r one company now and for the most part its running smother than it did in the first few weeks. i just laugh when i seen guys still bring up national guys. we take to long to get back; we take to long to fuel and drop out, we take to long to ::shit::. its funny because these guys were babied before the merger with not having to worrie about trucks and now u dont know where the hell there going to send a truck. we r so short on trucks and drivers anything is possible anymore. im not here to make friends so ill just do my job. watkins 101 holla.
