I remember in 1986 getting paid .32 per speedometer mile. Now some companies are hardly paying that...

For the life of me I cannot see how the big truckload carriers attract and keep any drivers. With low pay, long hours, and a sea of regulations to contend with younger people just stay away from the whole industry. Just throw in a couple of grocery warehouse deliveries will be enough to discourage the most upbeat driver.

No qualified driver will come to our company. The pay is too low and no pension. The people we do get and go through the programs for the doc a lot of them can't even pass the **** test.

I missed the cup the nurse was holding for me once and peed on the floor and they still passed me!!!
