How much money is fedex freight spending on trying to keep the union out? The millions that they are already spending and have spent coulda went towards our pension and healthcare.

What is the dollar amount the company is willing to spend to keep the union out? In a people first company wouldn't the money be better spent on the people rather than against them?

If the majority wants a union let them have it!

One problem. We stopped being a "people first" company, on January 30, 2011. Unless, by people, you mean the collective group of shareholders that keep those golden parachutes inflated.

I agree.
However, dont fool yourself. The majority does not want the union. Just because a handfull of members on this tiny forum want it, does not mean that is representative of the entire fxf driving pool.
At our barn, id bet that 95% are completely anti-union.

If that's true (and I've got no reason to doubt you), it's only because they haven't seen what we've seen... YET!

65% +/- of 3 centers already petitioned, so it's more than just a few on a tiny forum. ALSO, it's very very early in the process.

Weirdo, rather than speculate and cause all kinds of paranoia, why don't you just dig up the information and post it? It's public information.

They may be spending a little more, I'm hearing they are going to give us another week of vacation @ 20 yrs.
Could be a crap rumor but i still like it.

I am sorry but that type of circular logic makes me laugh a little - To summarize: Some people (including yourself) are trying to start an union at a Company that has always very openly and decicivly stated that they don't believe that the concept works in their (and their employees) best interest). Next step you are complaining that the same Company is putting up a fight for the minds and hearts of the employees by retaining (probably) some outside counsel and flying Excecs around to kiss babys, shake hands and talk about stuff.

Oh, the humanity ... Somehow doesn't make me feel all that confident in the reasoning abilities of our "future union leadership"

And we'll see about "the majority" wanting representation, that's what elections are for ...

Indeed we will see. Yes the company is openly against a union but that's the upper echelon talking not the rank and file guys like me.

If Yall keep beating that drum long enough and hard enough right. Just part of the process right. Not all of us want representation and not all of us are union busters or management implants we just happen to share a different opinion.
If so many wanted this union yall would not have to work the parking lots so hard to sway opinions.,,,,,, Just my 2 cents

You have to look at the size of the barns voting 65% and they are very small. I havent seen any great number wanting it at our center. I am not sure what you've seen but I dont have a problems with the rules as long as I understand it.

FedEx spends on average 6-7 million a year on anti union lobbying. That's with no petitions filed now we have 4 that have filed and several more about to how much will they spend? The law firm the company uses charges 1,000.00 an hour. Not to mention the training of the leadership team to fight the union. Also not including is the propaganda they are printing and cookouts ect..

By the end of the year I'm betting the company will spend 30 mil or more. That's all money that could have went to healthcare ,pensions, equipment, bonuses and even in the share holders pockets. At the end of the day the company would rather toss all this money out than do the right thing.

Remember if FedEx did the right thing the union wouldn't be here. Between freight and ground the company is gonna spend millions and millions just so it can continue to abuse it's drivers rather than do right by them.
